Earth, purple flowers, jammy raspberry aromas, maybe a little VA(?); lighter body, medium(+) acidity, not dominant, but makes it juicy; medium(-) tannins that are grainy/rustic; complex finish. Well balanced from front to back. Delightful in a cerebral analysis. Probably best with food, but had at a tasting.

I just popped one of these and my immediate reaction was -- this is terrific. I'm reading the recent notes and I wonder if we're drinking the same wine. Mine was stashed away at Portland Wine Storage. For $19 from Garagiste -- this is in my perspective a rare home run.
I popped and poured into a burgundy glass -- and immediately the nose is terrific, the front palate & mid palate are well rewarded. I really like this wine and at this point in time I am not experiencing what other recent tasters have reported.

Nails on chalkboard. Wine that triggers a headache. Extracted and missing the mark. Tightly wound. Drank better after a day of rest, but nothing to write sonnets about. Plunk.

agree with previous comments: opened several bottles almost 2 years ago and was extremely down on this wine. some time in bottle has clearly added density... also agree that its optimal to drink this after a full or full-medium bodied varietal... after a syrah or cabernet. not a 'first bottle' by any means, but had advanced in bottle.

had a few bottles sitting around and was indifferent or negative upon first tasting over a year or so ago. a little time in bottle has done it some justice; earthy, pleasant taste that's more interesting following a dif varietal like cabernet; and a bit denser than i recalled. glad i opened it to see its development.

PnP. Dark purple in the glass. Nose of bramble, menthol, and spicy black vine fruit. Dense palate of blackberries and eucalyptus. Spicy. Excellent, earthy and fruit-driven dense core on this one. Length and acidity are right where they should be. This was pleasantly unexpected. I can't reconcile the community score here. Glad I have two more bottles.

shocking how much this wine has changed for the better. I had written off this last bottle as it went in the stand up in the corner used for cooking pile a year ago and today was its turn. I was afraid to use it in a sauce as it may ruin the sauce so took a taste, and then another and then another. Wow. Juicy, vibrant, pleasant, easy drinking wine. nice acidity. Hmmmm. I didn't see this coming. This just need time. This was my last bottle. Wish I had another 6-12 - it would be great for parties.

What a difference a year makes. Last tasted in March 2012 and it was awful. So much so that I was reluctant to open this bottle. This was at least drinkable if not memorable. Had it with cheese and crackers. I was surprised it was OK.

Fresh, vibrantly fruity and with a nice earthy tinge on the finish. This is great quaffing red for a party. I enjoyed a couple of small pours from the magnum, but watched as some folks commandeered the rest of the bottle. I haven't seen magnums of anything except Champagne empty so fast. Fun wine.
Upon opening the nose is disgusting. It smells like a dive bar's toilet. The taste is no where that foul, and has some fruit so wonder if this is a wine that needs to decanted for hours prior to to the shit and urine smell to blow off. Tempted to dump but will not since other notes indicate some opening over time. Wouldn't want to cook with it either as I wonder if this would taint the food. Freakin' *#¥ Garagiste. Needless to say I am done with Rimmerman.

This was very interesting and fun to drink. It was open a few days and showed no deterioration. Dark red/black fruit, with an undertone of marzipan. I don't drink much Carignan, but when I do, I'm usually quite pleased, as with this bottle which accompanied a couple of varied meals.

This wine is nasty. I don't see, taste, or smell, any of the positives folks are talking about. It smelled like nail polish, it's hot, and has no discernable finish other than a bit of metallic taste. Undrinkable in our opinion.

This is really singing now, 6 months later and this is in much better drinking shape. From the get go this was charming and getting better.
Color: Purple/red in color, it looks satin like
Nose: Provencial herbs, Garrigue, violet and red fruit aromas
Palate: The wine grows as it passes over the palate, spreading the provencial herbs, blueberry notes, lavender and stone like minerality. Silky tannins and juicy acidity finish this wne clean.

Aromas of rose, mold and blackberry. A little unstructured and fruit forward. Flavors of prune and mushroom with a medium/full body. Fleshy texture with a short finish. Acid just pushes through.

Very good, but not exceptional wine. Medium weight, floral, and perfumed. My wife did not like it at all, she said it smelled like her mother's old perfume. I found it nice, but not deep or disarming in any way. I wouldn't purchase this again, but I'm enjoying it this evening anyhow.

Aromas of currants, fresh flowers, garrigue, baking spices, stony minerality, and some violets. Medium to full bodied, tannins present and full, but still we have good acids. Beaujolais like with more depth, telling in the fermentation method on this 100% Carignan is carbonic.
It's a 2010, so this is quite young and needs air but after 3 to 3.5 hours this is really starting to open up. The fruit really pushes out at 3-4 hours, it gains weight too.

Please note: I use a rating system in which 85 is a very good wine.
Decent bottle, but nothing noteworthy. Just not a lot going for me. Fruit okay, not too acidic. Just sort of okay.
