  • This is a compilation of tastings over a period of around 5 years, the latest just now. This is an exceptionally good wine. It has the fruit - blackcurrant and strawberries - expected from 2009, balanced by the pure acidity. A few years left. Good value. ****

  • Even a little more open than lest time, this is in a really good place now. Beautiful aromatics of red currant, sweet strawberries, raspberries, sweet spices, some smoke, crushed flowers. Medium+ bodied and dense, but feels almost weightless, has medium+ acidity and tannin that is very good quality. Very good length. A super pretty Beaune 1er Cru that is drinking perfectly now but has a few good years ahead.

  • Decanted for two hours, consumed over a period of three days. The wine was medium to light ruby in colour and offered mixed berries, cherry, spices, some smoke, underbrush and sage on the nose. On the palate the medium-bodied wine showed cherry, mixed berries, spices, some vanilla, some espresso and sage, with medium-plus acidity, medium-level tannin, some heat from the alcohol, a creamy mouthfeel and very good length. A ripe, generously oaked and a little fat yet sufficiently fresh Beaune with a slightly bitter and slightly drying aftertaste. I liked it best on day three as the components seemed better integrated and the wine more complete than on day one. For mid-term drinking. 88+ for now.

  • Like a great Volnay on the nose but too much oak and bitterness on the palete. Medium body and not much fruit.

It will improve though but it´s not very good today.

  • Opened 3 hours ago. Medium-dark ruby color. Expressive nose of sweet strawberries, raspberries, cotton candy (without that cheap side of it), sweet spices, a touch of oak. On the palate there are beautifully sweet red fruits again, spices, a touch of minerality and some smoke. It's medium+ bodied but very dense, with medium+ acidity and medium+ tannin that is super silky. Very good length. I'm usually not the biggest fan of Beaune (I prefer some more structured Côte de Beaune wines like Pommard, etc.). But this is super pretty and has enough mid-palate and density to stay interesting over the course of the evening. The longer I'm sipping on it, the more the fresh acidity kicks in too and adds an extra level of beauty. Wow! I'm curious how this will age... (93+)
