Somehow this got buried, so just now with a 1st taste with no idea how it was younger. Shy nose initially (too chilled) opens to creamy fruits with a touch of butter and oak, a bit light on acid for a foodie, no ox. Quite pleasant, surprised me at 11 y.o.

Starting to show signs of oxidation but still enjoyable. Notes fairly similar to last time with a little less floral on the nose and a little more white pepper on the palate. Also some elevated minerality.

Not much fruit left. Floral notes on the nose, some light citrus zest on the entry. The Marsanne and Roussanne kick in on the mid-palate, adding roundness to the mouthfeel of the wine. Some baker's yeast throughout and a touch of white pepper on the finish. Also detected some minerality. Still interesting but on the decline. Started to fall apart after 30 minutes in the glass.

Oak, or whatever bitterness I am detecting, is not welcome. Fruit seems muted, starting to wonder if the bottles I purchased were flawed. Drinkable, dumping down the drain was never a consideration.

Good fruit features but even though I found out that this only saw neutral oak, the oak still seems to be the dominant element. This is made by Sextant, apparently the latest Parker Paso darling.

I feel like this wine has aged years since the last time I tasted it. Not in a good way? I guess because it is so hot (14.5%) and the primary fruit has faded. The roussane still gives it character, but it's in a very weird place right now.

76% Viognier w/Roussanne, Marsanne and a touch of Grenache Blanc. Drank over 3 days - Vacu-Vin'd, better on day 1 but just as good on day 3 as day 2. Color: Light straw. Nose: Pears and green apples with some floral notes. Body: Medium, slightly viscous w/ thin legs. Pears and green apples on the palate with a touch of jasmine and honeydew. Slightly tart, slightly sweet, with decent acidity on the medium finish. Overall a nice summer quaffer with a very good QPR.

Nose: Nice crisp pear and apricot nose backed with slight floral notes Taste: Nice lightly sweet forward taste of pears and granny smith apples followed by slight grassy and petrol flavors rounding out the mid-palate. Definitely a fruity light sweetness (not from residual sugar) balanced out very well by some crisp acid and light floral notes.
A nice semi-dry finish closes out a pretty decent wine. For those who say viognier doesn't stand well on it's own have not had a good one.
