Ox-blood, full bodied. Plums, some red fruit. Wet wool Unctuous, fruit is still present, but only dark tasting. Medium finish. Some iodine hints. Somewhat acidic. Definitely at its peak. Drink now.
A little underwhelmed with the wines performance. Comes across a little bit weak. May have been better a few years back.

Rather disappointing for a Modus. Very thin and the palette and no backbone whatsoever. Little tannins and no acidity to be found. Maybe this was a bad bottle, but unfortuantely I don't have another bottle to compare.

Decanted Once aired out this shows the typical aged Tuscan nose, forrest floor, old boot leather, tobacco, dried flowers, mushroom and wood. Subdued notes of dried cherry, dried cranberry, currant, graphite and dust. On the palate, medium-plus in body with juicy medium-plus acidity, ripe moderate tannins and medium alcohol. Flavors appear more vibrant with both fresh and dried cherry, cranberry, pomegranate, plum and currant notes that are balanced well with leather, cigar tobacco, dust, earth espresso and dried rose petal. The finish lingers with mouthwatering acidity and notes of red fruits, tobacco and mineral playing out
Overall drinking well with air, and in my opinion, not past its window. Air time is your friend here

This was nowhere near what the 2007 vintage was. Lighter-bodied, not as much "to get your teeth into", but did have the same Sangiovese-Cab-Merlot fine flavor as the 2007, just a much lighter version. Don't believe aging will yield any improvement. I have a hard time spending $25 + for a wine that is not at least a 90 to me, so am not anticipating buying more of the '08 at that price. I will keep an eye on other vintages, as the '07 was truly magnificent.

I think this is starting to flesh out seems a bit more body on this today with the merlot filling out the middle, nice spicy dark and red fruit good acid. 1 hour decant

This is a pretty good wine. My father was visiting and i popped a bottle open. I cant the specifics of it but it was very smooth, yet tasty with a strong finish. We quite enjoyed it. Well recommended if you can find a bottle. A very good tuscan for its price.

Funk & spice aromas with buried fruit. The palate starts with spice, then shows a bit of cool dark fruit, then a bit of funk on the mid-palate, then back to fruit and spice on the finish. A touch thin but fairly acidic and light-medium tannins. A bit of a short finish. I agree the 07 is better but this is tasty too.

Popped cork and let it air for about an hour before servings, which works very well for Italian wines I have noticed. A good opening wine with our appetizers at a dinner party for eight.

This is a nice wine, very textbook super tuscan for me, but with a surprising softness to it. I expected a bit more tannin and will drink this sooner rather than later.

This wine is decidedly "ok". It has good astringency, but mediocre fruit. I would rate the wine 87 points. However, factoring the price of $29, it is poor value. I think you find this level of wine for a lot less money from different producers. Pass!

Very ripe and fruit-forward super Tuscan. PnP and it was good from start. Nose was pretty floral and plumy. The entry was ripe strawberries, black currant, and plum. Medium bodied with soft tannins. On the finish had some dark chocolate coming through. The Cab is very dominant and ripe, it kind of overwhelms the Sangiovese. Not oaky at all. Overall, I like it but it is somewhat forward.

Slightly lifted red cherry to stone fruit nose with tobacco, barnyard and herbs. Fullbodied and pretty refreshing with dusty tannic grip. Liquorice, graphite and wood. Good length. Quite nice stuff. Not too international.

Tasted blind. Cherry chutney, blackberry, vanilla bean and orchid. Not as concentrated or long-lived as the '07, however, still very pretty and more feminine. Silky and lively tannins. A classy effort. Drink 2013 - 2023.

Pretty tasty. Lots of black and red fruits with a bit of a tannic back end. As with most Italian wines, this is a great match to many different meals. Good value for $22 too!

Way too young. Closed & tannic, even after aeration. Give this one some time in the cellar, or a lot of aeration. Emily liked it a little better than I did.

PnP off a restaurant list. Accessible quickly, displaying medium body and acidity with cherry and currant fruit and a fair amount of earth and leather on the finish. Nice wine for the price.

PnP. Initially a bit closed, but really started to sing after an hour in the glass. A real sleeper. Excellent balance of rich dark fruits, leather, mild tobacco, vanilla, sweet oak, soft tannins, and acidity. great QPR. Nice finish. Should evolve nicely over the next 2-3 years, but drinking beautifully now with an hour or two of decanting. Will definitely purchase more.

This is a nice IGT, and would pair well with about any Italian fare. But I had heard such good things about this bottling that I was left wanting more. "Over-promised and under-delivered", I guess.
