a stinky bottle on open, we looked at each other and wondered what we had gotten into. 30 minutes later this was shining, super dark and polished with tannins that weren't nearly as angry as 3-5 years ago. dark fruit, some bloody/gamy flavors, ferrous. fantastic value and a fun journey as it evolved!

tannins still dusty and coarse, but tertiary flavors are now predominant. this might be starting to fade, although it was consistent after 6 hours in the glass/bottle, so perhaps there's still life ahead of it.

Decanted. Moderate sediment. First pour one hour later: Deep purple color. Muted nose of dark berries. Full-bodied dark fruit on the palate, balanced by lively acids. Medium length finish with no significant tannin. A pleasant wine with a good QPR. Should be good for several more years. Day 2: Cherries have become apparent on the palate, but otherwise, same as yesterday.

this has become less about the rich fruit and has turned darker and moody with a quiet assertiveness;it will be difficult to keep my hands off the rest in the basement

"Tiefdunkles, dichtes Kirschrot.

Smooth;great qpr again where some thought a $100.00 bottle;full bodied;for spanish wine so very impressive;memorable close to 2004;suprising to some that spanish wine at this level is so wonderful;superb!

Balanced, not as full bodied, but very tasteful. Dark red berries, oak, nice tannins and finish. Since it is not as full bodied, great for summer weather. Enjoyed a lot.

sharp tannins took about an hour to settle down then deep spanish earth and tart fruit predominate;looking forward to a higher score and a more ready wine to drink in about 6-12 months

The difference in oak treatment is clear between this 06 and the 05/04. A bit more polished but still very tannic - smooths out after a few hours of air, so make sure to decant it. dark, meaty, and concentrated yet still not over the top.

Still going strong. Big, bold and juicy. Still a brute but with mellowed tannins. This has plenty more years ahead of it. Nice!
