I was at a neighborhood Italian restaurant with limited choices, so I tried this wine. The color and nose were good, but on the palate the wine was rather tart, short and harsh. First unimpressive 2006 Brunello I have had.

I have never had a Brunello that was awful but this one came close. On the nose was fruit cake, spice, and raisin. So far so good but on the palate very disappointing. It was sour cherry but not in a good way. I didn't think a 2006 would disappoint but this one did. I still have the 2006 Fattoi Reserva, I hope that one makes up for this one....

Drank from a 375 at a local trattoria. Nothing special about this bottling, but it did the job. Paired well with cavatelli bolognese and veal medallions.

Monthly Tasting Group LTB 2012-09; Italy, Montalcino (By FB): Blood red with a garnet rim. Expressive bouquet with some barnyard, smoke, tobacco and oak. On the palate juicy red and dark forest fruits, sweet spices and a bit rustic. Good oak as well. A firm amount of good acidity and fairly supple tannin. Overall a not overly concentrated, juicy wine with some bitterness. A very ok wine.

Wednesday Night Blind Tasting in KW (Dave's House): Decanted for about 30-45 mins, served blind. On the nose, very pure red fruits, cherries, herbs, coffee, with an off-putting note of rubber and slight fecal matter. On the palate, dark cherries, raspberries. Moderate acidity, with very mild tannin. Moderate length on the finish. As with the last, the table opted not to consume the remainder of the bottle. Exceptionally poor value, and lacked typical Brunello characteristics.

Agree with previous comments. This is a good everyday drinker. A bit flat on the tail end.

Quite elegant nose. Elegance, also on the palate. Nice brunello for more everyday drinking.
