I agree with WSPIERS!! Thanks for the nudge as we opened it last night and boy is it ready to go. A little air but not long needed and boy is it still powerful on it's own. I wouldn't leave it longer, it's beautiful, has lost some of the fruit but the concentration is still immense.

Interesting contrast to the bigger fruit forward syrahs of the region. Lots of barnyard on the nose, softening after a few hours to allow the fruit to come thru. Tannins are still there, would be better with food. All in all, very nice wine.

Balckberry and blueberry fruit on the nose, smoke, and a menthol note, but also, as others have noticed a big dose of american oak... which initially put me off. On the palate the wine attacks with great structure, relatively smooth tannin with a bright acidic backbone holding up the ripe fruit. Some of the dominating woodwork subdued with decanting, and after three hours I felt this wine really hit its stride. Black berry fruit on the palate, torrified coffee notes, peppey on the finish. I could see this wine improving vastly with age and will consider putting some away. Med long finish. For now 88 pts, but I will revisit this. Good enough to buy six and lay them down.

This certainly has muscles but as I am drinking this before what would be considered it's time I have to say I am totally, impressively floored...solid and firmly structured at this stage of age, certainly causes you to think about the attainable complex levels when it is so young.....loving the base right now...I can only hazard a guess of the integrity at 5 - 10 yrs...impressive now....let's talk in 3-5 years

Dark red. Nose is dark fruit, mocha and angular oak. The palate has decent fruit, considerable body and oak. Finishes crisply and with backbone. This wines stands a chance of developing and improving despite the heavy influence of the lumberjacks who run the cellar.

My least favorite from BH...decent, well made wine, black berries on the nose, but not special in any way. Can still age a few more years.

Didn't think much of this based on what I expected. Flavour was decent but the nose was very yeasting and off putting. May have had a bad bottle.

Very nice syrah. Big nose of spice, pepper, and licorice. Good acidity. Long finsih. And great balance.
