While the fruit is starting to give to tertiary, more savory notes, the structure remains, with firm, grippy tannins and enough acidity to last through the finish. Dark berries, herbs, smoke, and a bit of VA on the medium-intensity. Some crunchy, juicy red and black berries on the palate, though this tends toward more brooding, dark fruit, and earthy/herbal notes. Even with hours and even a day of air, the tannins refuse to soften. Overall, this still comes across as fairly young in structure and the palate is still fairly youthful, though with some tertiary development. Probably has several years ahead of it. Very good.

Shame on me for not decanting this long enough. Even after 30 minutes on the glass this had really mouth-drying tannins and was hot on the finish. The best glass, 2 hours later, was full of violet, strawberry, and cocoa.

Dark red fruit, red berries, cherry, smoked meat, some forest floor and earth as well as slight volatile notes on the nose. The medium-bodied palate brings in cranberry, lingonberry and some darker fruit, with medium acidity. Partly resolved, silky but still somewhat grippy tannins and long finish with tart red berries. Structured, layered and gastronomic with some extra emerging complexity. The primary juicy fruit has somewhat faded out by now, letting the much more serious and complex side shine. In a wonderful spot now, but will probably still keep and maybe develop some more tertiary tones.

James is basically the same wine as Burgaud's Côte du Py, but only the best barrels of the wine that show the most structured character are used for James, while the remaining are used for the regular Côte du Py. 13% alcohol (perhaps? - almost impossible tell from the indistinct label).
Moderately evolved, dense and almost fully opaque blackish-red color. Wizened, sweet-toned and somewhat developed nose with aromas of raisiny dark fruit, some sweet figgy tones, a little bit of juicy forest fruits, light perfumed notes of dried flowers and a subtly sweet hint of lifted VA. The wine is concentrated, chewy and quite muscular on the palate with a medium body and quite intense flavors of tart lingonberries, extracted dark fruits, some pruney tones, a little bit of earth, light beefy tones of meaty umami, a hint of gravelly minerality and a sweet touch of fruity volatile lift. The overall feel is impressively structured for a Beaujolais with the high acidity and surprisingly assertive, grippy tannins. The finish is long, savory and quite noticeably grippy with intense flavors of fresh, dry forest fruits, some wizened black cherries, light blueberry tones, a little bit of earthy spice, a sweeter hint of raisiny fruit and a touch of gravelly minerality.
An excellent, very Burgundian and simply dead-serious Cru Bojo that is in a wonderful shape right now. Starting to show some age with the dried-fruit flavors, but there is still quite a bit of life to this wine, both in the fruit and in the firm, still remarkably tightly-knit structure. Drink or keep. This wine is as classic as Burgaud gets, but I wouldn't be surprised if it continued to improve from here. Excellent. Priced according to its quality at 32€.

On the plus side, after 8 years this still tastes like a simple vibrant Morgon. On the minus side, nothing seems to have happened. Needs even more aging? Seems a little hard to believe, but certainly wasn't falling apart.

Nice stone minerality, pepper and flower notes. Just a bit thin, but good presence and finish. Still cannot believe the complexity and terroir that comes out of $25 bottles from the cru's of Beaujolais.

Salutations

Needed a good hour+ to open up, but once it did there was a lovely robe of berry fruit and pleasing acidity. It has quite a bit of structure, so time is warranted.

Like its sister bottling (Javernières), this is initially quite stern in profile, even to the point of being austere and out of balance. An hour later the fruit starts to fill in, and two hours later there is an overall harmony that was nowhere to be found on opening. The fruit remains austere, and overall the wine is quite stern, but it has a sense of balance, so give it some (lots) time.

Very rich floral berry compote wrapped in a good dose of acidity and cab franc stemminess. There is a lot going on here, but it is incredibly primary. Sent rest of case to nap for a few years.

Incredibly stemmy at first with the fruit disjointed and dominated by woody and stalky flavours, but it comes together with a few hours of air and turns into a very elegant, floral expression of Morgon full of pure, bright red fruits with the stemmy elements integrating nicely. There's good structure here; fine grained tannins and bright acids, and the balance is excellent. I expect this will be wonderful with age, though right now it really needs a lot of air and patience.

Still juicy and fresh. Doesn't seem to age. Would guess it was 3-4 years old. Will leave my last bottle for at least 3 more years.
