Tart cherries and red, unripe berries. Hints of vanilla and cedar (not oak). Really well balanced, nice tannins. Went exceptionally well with pork chops. Would be even better if we had made a chutney to go with them as well.

Vin bien foncé et brillant. Nez sur la fleur séchée, le fruit rouge épicé, l'anis, le cuir et un peu de terre. En bouche, belle concentration que l'acidité balance dans une longue finale. Saveurs de baies rouges et noires, cuir, le côté floral revient, épices, un trait de fumée. C'est tellement bon ! Un "hit" à table comme à chacune des bouteilles de ce vin ouverte jusqu'à date...

I really liked the acidity and fruitiness of this wine. Well-balanced. I would drink this with many food dishes but be equally comfortable (and happy) to drink this Barbara from Aldo Vaira as a 'cocktail' wine. Yummy! I do like wines with high acidity...

APPEARANCE: Medium to dark garnet. Long legs with watery edges AROMA: Vanilla extract, pepper, leather TASTE: Cherries with very smooth tannins. Delicious with a beautifully long finish

Doften fylls av blåbär och björnbär med en hint av vanilj. Paletten har ännu ej balanserats utan består av mycket frukt även för att vara en barbera. Kommer att spara resterande flaskor minst 2 år.

Good fruit, high acidity and minimal tannins make this very easy to enjoy and a fantastic match for many foods. $25 is not a bad price. I suspect that there are a lot of gems to be found with 2009 Barbera d'Alba.

Foncé et légèrement violacé. Mélange de fruits rouges et noirs, côté floral, cuir et un peu d’épices au nez. En bouche, beaucoup de fruits (cerise), épices, fleurs, acidité rafraichissante, bonne longueur et concentration modérée. Très bon.

D’un rouge pourpre profond, nous voyons bien qu’il peut attendre sagement en cave. Il s’ouvre sur des arômes de fruits rouges mûrs, d’épices, un peu de cuir et des notes balsamiques. C’est un vin assez corsé avec des tanins serrés de belles qualités. Nous avons beaucoup de concentration et il possède une belle longueur sur le fruit. Red fruit nose with some rubber, hazel nuts, animality, liquorice and smoke. Medium bodied and quite lively on the palate with refreshing acidity and some tannin. Sour fruit, orange peel, ripe strawberries and red cherries. Mid-length finish. A nice basic Barbera - not too big for my palate.

Very sweet Barbera, almost towards a Dolcetto. Vanilla and artificial red fruit. Simple and boring nose. Taste follows the nose. Nothing wrong other than it's uninspiring and too light for my palate
