  • brought this to dinner at peking duck house. shared with pat, dom, mark, john and brooke. i pulled this bottle because ct notes suggested it was ready. turns out to have needed quite a bit of air to show its stuff. many were surprised that a pinot this good came from carneros. deep red color. luscious plum fruit. rich nose. satisfying mouth feel. extended finish. beautiful on its own but also held up to slightly spicy food. there was lots of other wine on the table. brought home uncosumed wine. finished the following evening. it was showing even better with more roundness and fullness. suspect this could easily improve with another year in bottle.

  • Ruby color with clear rim. Nose: red plum, bottled red cherry, and red currant with accents of red rose, anise, sumac, mushroom, and sandalwood. Medium body on the palate: red/black plum, bottled red/black cherry, and pomegranate framed by sumac, anise, black tea, pink peppercorn, and cola. Medium acidity. Lighter tannins. Lingering plum/cherry skin, cola, and pink peppercorn on the moderate finish. Pretty fruit, soft texture, straightforward. Approachable and tasty. Drink now.
