So happy I aged this as it has come together beautifully. Perfect balance of spice and fruit. Incredible value if you can hold onto it and store properly.

Blackberry, black currant, cedar, sweet spice and tea on the nose. Red cherries, blackberries and tea on the palate. Tannins are mild, but the wine should last for another few years at least.

Fairly dark ruby red in color with a slightly watery rim. Blackberry, black currant, black pepper, vanilla, smoked meat, fine leather and mint on the nose. Blackberry, black pepper and alcohol on the palate. It is still mildly tannic with a black berry and black pepper finish - a bit too much of the latter in my opinion.

Was bit of an experiment this one in that I cellared this modestly priced Australian cab sav to see how it would mature. Wasnt particularly light in colour at all which was surprising given its almost 8 years old. Quite black, purple hue, almost cohors like. Nose was beautiful, open, casis, raspberry and chocolate. Palate was surprisingly still big, chewy, a touch sharp with firms tannins and a lovely long finish. It probably could have gone another 3-5 years this one. Overall, worth cellaring a few more of these, hold on to longer and see what happens as it matures into a big, bold style that I like.

A bright ruby hued wine with long legs. The nose has earth and cedar with cherries and smoke layered underneath. Tastes of soft black cherry, very smooth with the slightest rustic edge to the fine tannins. The finish has medium length with cedar and black cherry. Surprisingly, the finish was not hot, as expected, based on the long legs in the glass. The tannins are fine, but significant life left. Doesn't matter for me, this was the last bottle. Rock solid, but not stunning.

Great QPR. Deep, very dense, dark, inky purple color strong enough, it seems, to stand a knife in it. Beautiful nose of dark fruit and cranberries with a touch of spice. Big fruit bomb, plum, balckberry, blueberry, spice and hint of burnt bark, medium tannins support the fruit and provide depth and structure. Some complexity, but this is mostly about the fruit. Nice, very long finish with a hint of sweet cherries and vanilla.

Nez de framboise légèrement poivrée. Superbe richesse et superbe longueur en bouche. Le boisé s'intègre très bien. Qualité pratiquement imbatable à ce prix.

Ripe black fruit and earth on the nose are followed by saturated tastes of blackberry, black currant and cedar. This wine finishes with fine tannins with a medium finish. An excellent value for the price.

This gives an immediate impression of rich and luscious. The nose is thick with black currant and blackberries. Upon warming, the nose adds an earthy, black olive tone. The taste continues with the same richness of black currant and blackberry. The finish follows suit with nice medium length and good balance. It's a little hot on the end, but maybe that's redundant for a big Barossa Cab? Excellent overall. Good enough to grab some bottles after the tasting.

Concentrated, typical ripe Barossa fruit. A bit acidic at the moment, too much bitterness. The first bottle I had of this seemed OK, but the second one I had after a few days, I couldn't finish. Maybe it will improve with age, I will never know, since I am not planning to hold on to any of these.

Decanted for 3 hrs. Nose of cherry wax. Palate was cherry butter cream. A smooth creamy finish.
