One of the best old vine Zinfandel that I have had. Ripe fruit and bold taste with a very long finish. Extremely dark color but with excellent clarity.

Decanted for 1 hour. Ripe, full bodied, lots of alcohol (15,4%), but balanced, tasty, juicy with round and refined tannins. Easy drinking and delicious. Really good!

If you are a fan of the Lodi Zins you will not be disappointed. Several of the comments below of the blackberry, leather, earthy taste are there. Great finish after about 45 minutes decant. The nose is dark and peppery. I love several of the Michael David, Klinker Brick, and others from that area, and this is at par. Don't pass this up if you come across.

Killer Zin. Powerful and complex nose of blackberries and clove; tar and leather and wood. More on the red side than gobby purple. Clean and well constructed in the mouth with same notes found. Has hints of chocolate on the finish. I liked this very much.

Decanted 45 mins. ahead. Very dark ruby color. Nice, spice-forward nose of coffee, hard spices, cooked plums, black pepper, and cedary wood. Black-fruit flavors lead on the palate, such as blackberries and currants, along with a bit of clove. Soft acid balance, which lends approachability. The finish is long and good, with coffee notes ahead of light grip and very low tannins. This is a good example of Lodi Zin, Old School Version but with the well-advised addition of wood. It's rich and thick but not a fruit-bomb. Well-made with good QPR.

Big and fruity but a bit to flabby for my liking. Could have been a below avg bottle as I remember a far better wine at the tasting.

This wine has everything that the experts hate on Zins. That is why we normal human beings love it. It is a great wine and value for the money.
