Definite improvement since last bottle and this is now drinking pretty well. Tannins have softened a bit, and there's still lots of lively red fruit. Two left and I think they can definitely go at least a few more years. May see further improvement, I think.

Aging gracefully. Dense black fruit and pyrazines on the nose. Herbal notes and coffee with plums and blackberries in the mouth. Drinking well now with air and food, but will go for a while longer.

Deep dark center, red/purple rim with modest signs of age. Sweet, pipe tobacco, menthol, eucalyptus, black cherries and ripe black plums. Dry, quite heady aromatics (mint, banana), blackcurrants, black cured olives, good acidity and tannin still, leafy greenness, great length. Wonderful blend of left bank Bordeaux and Napa mountain fruit. Good now, but has several years to go.

Brought to Revelry for birthday dinner. First bottle of this we have drunk, and it was a pretty decent showing. This wine is red-fruit dominant, medium in weight, with high acidity. The tannins were reasonably well behaved, and this opened up a bit with air. But it still seemed tight through dinner despite pretty vigorous decanting. The finish was also a tad short and slightly disjointed. I think I will hold my remaining bottles for a few years in the hopes that they integrate a bit more.

Really delicious, this was my first bottle of a 6-pack and I'm glad I waited but I don't know if I can wait long to try the next bottle. Lush, dark cherry and tobacco flavors, well integrated tannins and a beautiful finish.

Decanted for about an hour. Red fruit, tart cherries, cedar, and a little chocolate towards the back end. Wasn't really my style as much as I'd prefer ripe dark or blue fruit and a bit more depth of flavor.
Kept approximately half the bottle to try tomorrow, will see if anything changes.
88 for now
Update: better on day two. Red fruit was riper and more concentrated. Cedar is still there with menthol/anise on the nose and menthol/mint on the palate. Longer finish then yesterday. Medium versus short. 89-90.
I'm not as familiar with Togni, but based on the tasting, could imagine this holds up for another 5-10 without too much trouble. If I had to do it over again I would have opened it in 2020.

Open, fruity/toasty nose with currants and black cherries, mint/eucalyptus, chocolate and coffee. Quite generous on the palate, ripe tannins and warming alcohol, but acidity and structure to match. Nice hamburger wine, should keep like any Togni, probably more exciting in ten years.

Colour: Quite dark in colour. Nose: Great nose with blueberries, dark cherry, red-currant, milk-chocolate, herbs and a bit of pipe tobacco. Palate: Very silky on the palate with a lot of power and a strong finish. Will improve with some more cellar time though its beautiful to enjoy now.

Coravin taste. On the nose, red fruits and nice forest floor. On the palate, it is red-fruit driven with a velvety texture, decent acidity, and lovely tobacco and herb notes. This is nice but the tannins are still pretty grippy and the finish is not yet smooth. With some more time, this should be pretty nice. Can definitely tell that this is a Togni and it has some of the character of its big brother. Nice wine with pretty good potential. Wait a few years.

This is a nice bottle that really shows the difference between Spring mtn fruit and Howell Mtn fruit. This bottle is all about the flavors of the raspberries with a side of spice. Unlike the bold fullness of Howell mtn this is a lighter Cab that can be drank earlier and will peak earlier than Howell mtn wine. I enjoyed the differences and will drink my next bottle within the next 12 months. Drink now to 2018

Nice Togni profile of cooler fruit, dark spices, and a hint of earth. The palate had a nice minty edge to it and good balance. Certainly a wine that'll benefit from time...it had some vanilla notes that I would hope to soften with time.

A beautiful display of Spring Mountain fruit. The black cherries, sweet berries, herbs, graphite and violets are some of the notes that leap from the glass. This is well-structured with layers of flavors supported by dusty round tannins ending in a long firm finish.

Absolutely way too young, but still fantastic. Initial nose was a bit much. It was a chocolaty, milky oak nose with blueberries and licorice. That dissipated a bit and began to show some lavender components as well as dark cherry. Full bodied wine with black cherry and a touch of oak coming through on the palate. Finish was med+ in length with some oak spice peaking through at the end. Tannins were fully present during the finish and took some time to calm down. I think in a few more years this will settle in nicely.

Served with grilled beaf (prepared on the "hot stone") and italian cheese. Huge, black, and tannic. Decanted for one hour and still needed more time. Black plums, currants, tar, smoke, and leather were layered in this full bodied powerhouse. This great wine surely needs a few more years in the bottle, but is already very much drinkable right now.

NR as this was too young at this point. I liked it but it was definitely not firing on all cylinders. This will need a good 2-3 years to start showing the great potential I see at this point.

These are a produced to age and this one is too young, lay this wine down. Nice elegant structured wine that must be decanted. A focused wine of full forward expressive black and red fruits, cedar lite spice and mild sweetness. I score this one a conservative 87 points. I guess that I am spoiled in that I am more of a pop and pour type, however, I do wonder what this will be like a few years down the road?
Lay this wine down as it has huge potential for a second label. Very tight, needs hours of decanting to open. Full body, layers of complex blackberry, blueberry, oak, cassis, slight earthy under tones deliver an amazing experience. Hold for a decade before drinking and you won't be disappointed.

Complex wine that is not far off from the Estate which sells for 2x+ this one. Same notes on the perfume. Body somewhat less voluptuous and finish not as lengthy, but that's in comparison to a perenial 94+ wine. Vibrant color of regal purple. Lively on the palate.

Aromas that remind me of Tuscany. Most would not guess this is a Napa Cabernet. The aromas are smokey, a hint of earthy tobacco, and red and blue fruit. Layered, great texture, and wonderful with steak. Wish I had a case!

After two hours of air, there is a nose of cassis and smoke, with slight herbal undertones. On the palate, there is a full spectrum of mountain fruit, medium in body with tobacco and leather and with moderate a finish. This is a very balanced and drinkable wine, and would likely get even better with some age. Enjoyed drinking with rib eye and arugula salad, it was very drinkable with enough fruit to pair with steak, enough acidity to cut through the fat, and the perfect amount of fruit to balance out spicy arugula. 91 points now, 92-93 in a few years.
