PNP. Cork perfect. Color dark straw. Nose has oxidation with butterscotch and this follows through on the palate despite considerable acidity. Recent acquisition but would have drunk sooner had I known. Would drink up if I had more

A range of fruits (tropical, white and citrus) on nose along with oyster shell and slight nuttiness. Palate has medium plus fruit that is met with acidity and mineral which makes it feel lighter; refreshing. Detectable oak treatment, but not out of step. Quite nice with food. Great value.

Rich, oaky and warm weather notes of tropical fruit, lemon rind, nuttiness and a complement of soil complexity. Vire Clesse seems to offer a warmer, more woody, dare I say rustic, expression of Chardonnay in general. Can feel a bit cluttered and rich, rather than the perfumed and elegant precision you expect in fine Burgundy. Enjoyable, with good freshness and density on the palate, but I've yet to have a Vire Clesse that strikes me as grand or refined.

A private dinner (Auberge Jean & Marie, Amsterdam, NL): Bright acidity and mineral energy, vinous, ripe grapes and a hint of honey, floral, could almost pass for a rich and mature Riesling, good weight and depth, lovely balance, completely ready but not at the end of its tether, good flavour intensity and length.

A bit oxidized (same result with multiple bottles) and all-in-all too heavy for my taste. Lots of sweet dried fruit, oak, heat and alcohol. Not enough acidity and freshness. Still good P/Q ratio an ok glass with some heavy food. Serve chiilled and drink up now...

Fullish body for a Maconnais, with a good fruity aroma. Lots of lemony acidity with almost a tannic backdrop which suggests further aging potential. I'll probably leave the rest of the case for a year or so before trying another.

This was delicious. Paired well with duck confit and fiddlehead ferns. First time I've used the tasting note assistant, but if you're into the minutia, enjoy. That being said, it bears repeating that this was delicious.
The wine looks yellow gold colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like melon, mineral, flint, forest floor, lead pencil, cedar, orange blossom, honeysuckle, hay/straw and honey. It tastes like lemon, lychee, melon, forest floor, mineral, vanilla, oak, orange blossom, pistachio and honey. The body is medium. The wine has polished texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has high acidity.

Pale yellow; lots of pear, malo notes, almost honey richness; a little lemon but leaning more toward the butterscotch nuttiness; really well made though does not have the midpalate of the great terroir in Burgundy.

La Paulée de New York 2013 (Metropolitan Pavilion, NYC): This may be the first Héritiers de Comte Lafon white I've respected this much. Nose is very pretty; however, the palate surprisingly juts out towards a strange, green, jalapeno, Sauv Blanc like place. A wild expression of terroir I'd wager. Too bad it includes green things I'm not the biggest fan of. The nose is greater than the palate to my sense.

Attractive floral nose with spicy notes. Floral character on the palate with some oaky phenolic elements over citrus fruit. Might benefit from some age.

Immediately on the go with its overt orchard fruit personality coupled with some feijoa exoticness. The boisterous fruits are reigned in by minerally acidity and there’s freshly grated ginger as part of the flavour profile in the mouth. It is a wine of good character and a lot of fun to drink. I probably should get out more often if I consider drinking fresh, lively white wines as fun.

Domaine Tasting at Comte Lafon: From bottle. Super aromatic. Ripe peaches and white floral on the nose. Definitely the most ripe aromatically. Rich and ripe on the palate too. Nice depth of fruit with good acidity on the finish.

La madurez que nos gusta en la chardonnay. Con visos de oxidación, pero que oxidación!
Mantequilla, panaderia, piedras y tiza, ahumados. Muy complejo y reconocible sin cosas raras.
La boca es una piedra, contundente pero acariciante. Acidez boca-agua, muy largo. Para repertir.

Lovely bouquet of flowers, lemons and oranges. Lovely balance and growing subtle complexity. A great value at this price point.

Light gold. Crisp lemon with light cream. Expressive nose, clean acidity, deftly done. Nice medium/long finish showing more of the pleasing tartness.

The Wines of Burgundy Seminar (The Wine Country, Signal Hill, CA): Really nice. Mineral and acid driven but with some nice chard flavors. Fresh and lively but loaded with flavor. This is what Chardonnay is supposed to be like.
