Wasn’t paying close attention to what I had opened, but immediately guessed this was from 2007 based on the stewed fruits I tasted and less present tannins. It’s a dark red/orange color with brown around the edges. The alcohol, at a whopping 15%, shows itself on the nose, but isn’t bad on the palate. I am longing for more acidity and backbone.

6th Annual Christmas dinner and cellar raid (Naperville, IL): Part of wine dinner and cellar raid. This was the opening wine for when folks arrived. Its been about four years since I last tried this and it was very disjointed back then, but time has helped this a lot. This was very smooth with a nice finish. Tannins are still present so I believe has a good amount of life left in it.

This needs time. Seemed a little disjointed, but after a little time in the glass this started to show signs of life. Very long finish but it just didn't seems in balance with the fruit and acidity. This could very well turn around in a few years. We will see..

Quit "warm" style, probably typical for the vintage. Lack some tannin and structure. I would drink up now.

Dark red center with a orange rim, strong integration of dark fruit flavors, silky smooth with a very clean light finish

In a good spot, fruit is good, tannins are pretty mild, could use some more structure.
