A little hot and over the top for me although I remember liking it in the tasting room 3 1/2 years ago. Perhaps I should have drank this a couple years ago. We have half of the bottle left for later tonight... We will see

Another great bottle from caliza. Full-bodied, but well integrated. ~6 yrs of bottle age seems to be a sweet spot for this producer. I have a few older bottles, so will see how well they hold up.

Decanted 8 hours prior to tasting. The dark color presages a thick and gritty palate, but it surprisingly did not feel heavy. Plum, blackberry, and even raspberry appear with licorice and a touch of tar. Certainly in the port wannabe classification, but nicely constructed and quite pleasurable.

Another big, powerful Syrah blend from Paso. This is a little more on the rough side of the spectrum, with a slight taste of stems. I'll let the next bottle decant for a few hours to see how it opens up.

Popped, aerated and drank over 2 nights. This was a pleasant surprise. Good aromatics with plenty of black fruit. Lush mouthfeel. Good black fruit and some dust on the front end, with dark chocolate notes on the finish.

Dark garnet with med-heavy viscosity in the glass. Young nose of forest floor, candy cane and black licorice. Secondary tar. Full body with mouthwatering dark fruit, coffee and chocolate on the palate. Secondary green. Grippy tannin. Long finish.

Delicious blackberry fruit, slightly jammy, acidity notable, hot, wine seemed a bit disjointed
