What a difference a year + makes. Decanted for only an hour so that night two made the experience worthy since the wine remained in the decanter overnight but was shifted to the bottle later that morning.. This wine is still young but should have a great future. Well textured and developing depth

Popped and poured and wowed. The exuberance of youth. This bottle erupts at entry: exotic, oily, and mouth-filling, engaging across the entire palate. I am not sure what more one can ask of a too young beauty unleashed.

Decanted 4 hours before consumption over another 3 hours. Another amazing winery out of Paso, the 2020 vintage is considered accessible early. For a 3 year old L'Aventure, this wine is already delicious. True to the varietal, the wine is feral in the best of ways, and glides to a full mid-palate and finish. Perfect structure and texture for my taste. Just lovely.

12/22/2022 7:08:00 AM - Good morning. Several wineries used the vineyard so I am sure Realm will keep the name. I understand that Anthony Yount of Denner winery as well as 6 Mile Bridge and his own whites released under the Kinero label with reds released under Royal Nonesuch has been selected to make the wines so the quality is in good hands. I hope they give the local winemaker free reign.
7/5/2020 7:38:00 AM - Good morning, John......undoubtedly, the American palate is for sweet things. Hence, the morbid obesity we see rampant all around us. That being said, yes, allowing the fruit to hang longer achieving more ripeness and higher brix (sugars) makes for wines with higher alcohol levels. Sometimes those alc% get so high the winemakers have to literally 'water back' or dilute their wines with water. Unfortunately, when you do that you lose some color and flavor, too so then other additives are used to try to make the wine darker/sweeter. Sometimes these additives are used too much and I think this creates some of the wines we see today. I really think there are few Cali reds that aren't manipulated in some way to get them where they achieve more sales with the end consumer. his kind of manipulation takes place in almost every food stuff/drink in America from Gatorade to McDonald's french fries. Carter wines are another notch up the ladder altogether! They are these rich, decadent, opulent, dense creatures with tons of glycerin like glide in the mouth. They are quite good and getting quite expensive but there's no way I could drink them every night no matter how wealthy I was. They have their place and time for me. Cheers, pal!
