Concerned that we had held to long. It was definitely past prime but still nice. Soft tannins. Fruits mellowed but still got strong hints of cherry. Enjoyed

Drinking in a nice, peak window right now. Much improved over previous tastings, specifically with overall balance, savory/sweet depth, fruit diliniation, and texture/viscosity. Drink 2021-2024. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 92.

Dark ruby in colour with lovely aromas of kirsch, stewed prunes, earth/forest floor & an herbal/floral note. On the palate, medium bodied mostly red fruit, red cherry/strawberry/raspberry, possibly tart blackberry, earthy, herbal, spice/clove, with medium acidity & medium soft tannins. Finish is long to spice & black pepper & this is delightful, balanced wine.

On the pop and pour this was lacking on the nose and palate. Very thin and watery flavors. I left it in the glass for about an hour and cooked dinner - pork chops with Herbs de Provence spicing. Completely different wine when we sat down for dinner. This had filled out and opened up nicely. Remarkable evolution. Nose was beautifully aromatic with floral and red fruit notes. The palate had filled out and firmed up and was absolutely delicious. Rich, complex and long yet light on it's feet. Nice acidity and silky smooth but present tannins. This worked perfectly with the meal. Would buy again.

Black and raspberries and liquorice on the nose. Tannins are nicely integrated and nice fruits. I think this wine is drinking well now, but no rush to drink up. I opened the bottke yesterday, but still fine today after spending the night in the frigde. A very enjoyable CDP.

Much improved over our last tasting two years ago. Decanted and paired with savory chicken stew and it was accessible within 20 min. Good laser beam of bright red cherries and raspberries set against a deeper base of blackberries, black licorice, cloves, garrigue, and black tea. Still coming together but the frame and balance (though still elusive now) are within sight. Drink 2020-2028. Technical score: 90. Enjoyment score: 92.

Decanted more than an hour and drank over a fee more. The nose had a lot of earth - moving to mold. I don't think this was corked, but there was some significant funk to this wine. There is some plum and black tea, but otherwise pretty subdued. I was expecting more for this wine....its not drinking like the wine spectator score. I didn't see much improvement with time in the decanter.

Decanted in the glass and had a little sip every now and then. It took about 3.5 h until I fully started to enjoy this fine CdP.
Nevertheless, still high levels of tannins and heat apparent. Strong backbone but the right level of acidity, fruit (cherries), chocolate, and smoke to create a wonderful drinking experience. Long finish.

Decanted and drank with roasted sausage and root vegetables. Dark crimson color with a cherry-colored hue. The nose is elusive and fleeting, bringing hints of red and dark fruit with garrigue, candied spices, and wild flowers. The palate is full, square, hard as a rock, and essentially inpenetrable, revealing little fruit delineation. The finish is thick and tannic. This wine is completely shut down at the moment so you may want to hold until 2020+. Technical score: 87. Enjoyment score: 88.

Interestingly, I thought perhaps this suffered from the Beaucastel Plague as it CERTAINLY seemed to smell of a heavy dose of Brettanomyces upon opening. However, an hour and a half in the decanter has cured that. Mostly sweet and pure nose with only a possible hint of Brett, but a tad stinky (rubbery). This is spice-dominated with ripe, but crunchy fruits. Tar. Dense palate, typical 2010 with loads of salty minerals, spice, crushed rocks and red fruits buttressed by excellent quality tannin and ample acidity. This is delicious and is certainly quite youthful as so many 2010s seem to be in suspended animation! Without a doubt, the greatest Sinards I have tasted! Drink 2016-2024 92 df 9.2

Vinturied into a decanter for 2 hours; medium crimson-medium garnet in appearance. Plum paste, blackberry jam, black cherries, and some cherry Nyquil on the nose. Ripe red fruit nose. A little plum, a little spice. Palate shows some herb up front. Medium tannin. Floral on the palate, aromatic spice that is lightly black pepper-ish. Cinnamon palate. Much more in the texture dept, next to the 2010 La Gille. Also, more giving balance.

First impressions rule with this wine. Absolutely beautiful nose of lavendar, dusty rose petals and black tea. You fall in love with the wine even before tasting it. Of the CDP's we've experienced, this would be on the feminine side. The tasting experience is not quite as good as the nose, but it may need time to evolve. Tastes of cherries, plum, pepper and again black tea. A reasonably long finish of about 25-30 seconds. Well balanced wine with medium body, good acidity, and structured but not overpowering tannins. It would be a perfect fit with lamb, veal, or dark meat fowl. I would expect this wine to improve over time, but giving it a solid 92 right now. I hope it does not shut down like some folks have talked about with CDPs. I sure don't want to wait until 2017 before I have more. Bought 6 more bottles after having the first two.

Famille Perrin tasting event (Brussels): Funky expressive nose with notes of game and barnyard on a layer of red fruit. Dark fruit on the palate; appearing very young; distinct black pepper and firm dry tannins at the finish. Interesting wine with good substance, tannins needs some time to resolve.
