  • Still fruit and fresh structure, nearly too fruity. I need some backbone… drink now

  • Excellent. A bit of a Bordeaux feel to it with the earthiness and a slight bit of pepper.

  • Quelle belle bouteille.

  • Samso 45%, Garnacha 40%, Cabernet Sauvignon 10% and Syrah 5%

Full body, deep garnet red. Starts with intense black fruits, oak and floral aroma but thorough about half hour in glass continues with sweet spices notes and elegant leather. Black cherry, dewberry, jammy palate and long mineral finish. Slightly unbalanced – too powerful but rich and complex, bold and rounding texture, gentle acidity and ripe, completely integrated tannins. Best match is rice dishes, tasted with stuffed peppers. Serve 17º - 22º. Still needs aeration, open about two hours ahead or decant. Drink now and next six years.

  • Profound red colour. Violet edges no more. Automatically quite simple with liquorice and coal. High alcohol stings even on the nose.
In spite those five years laying down in my cellar and this extraordinary vintage, it performed really unbalanced between opulence and that 14.5 ABV. Acidity doesn't help either. Moderated length. Some typicality, any greatness.
In the old times grapes coming from different producers vineyards was bottled by Palacios as just Les Terrasses. After that this well-known tourist trap of "VV". Nowadays degraded to "laderas" only.
At this range there're much better examples in Priorat. Yes, indeed.

  • Medium ruby color. Black currant, prune, liquorice, leather in the aroma. Full body. Strong acidity and tannins but with a balance to the astringent side. Ripe black fruits in the palate, would have liked those to be more dominating. Semi long finish with a lasting impression of astringency, lacking some complexity. Had with burgers, an acceptable match.

  • Nez jeune et alcooleux, fruits noirs, menthol
Bouche jeune très boisée, tannins rugeux, fruits noir discret, vanille, fruits séchés
Finale un peu chaude, rude, et longue
Bon potentiel mais trop jeune a mon sens

  • Good color and legs. Slightly subdued but lovely red fruit nose. Good initial mouthfeel with clean red fruit with fig, hazelnuts, ands touch of tar. Relatively short finish but with a lingering bitterness. Tannins are pretty well integrated. While I feel this can go several years it feels like it is approaching its peak.

  • After 3 hours decanting, the priorat was poured, showing medium concentrated ruby red with a violet rim, finally revealing figs perfumed with beautifull clove, hazel nut, anise and roses. Mineral and herbal presence as well. Quite elegant! Velvety medium body, of suitable powerfull structure. Palate is bitter and surprisingly shallow. Medium finish of dark chocolate, tobacco and cassis liqueur. All the latent complexity elements are here, but they just don't come through as flavors, keeping this very good spanish away from greatness. Needs more cellar time? Not sure of it. Althoug it may still improve, tannins are ripe and palate is balanced, indicating wine near its peak. Still a very good red, demanding at least 3 hours of air. 91-92

  • Довольно хорошо сбалансированное вино. Идеально с испанскими сырами и колбасами. Если пить отдельно, то вино туговато,
необходимо время, чтобы раскрыться, но с вышеупомянутой едой
    как раз то что надо.

  • Clear and bright, deep ruby colour and dense legs. The nose is clean and developing, showing medium intensity aromas of red cherries, red plums, liquorice, anise and cedar. It's dry in the mouth with a medium acidity, high coarse tannins, high warm alcohol, full body and medium intensity flavours of red cherries, liquorice, anise, lavender and cedar. Medium+ finish.

It's a very good quality wine with a nice tannic structure, a good balance between fruit and acidity and a decent finish. However it lacks complexity. Can drink now, it has enough tannic structure to evolve towards more complex aromas in 3-5 years, the moderate fruit concentration being the limiting factor.

  • A stunningly elegant and very well structured Priorat wine, sourced from six steep and old vineyards (slate terraces with vines older than 60 years ) around the village of Gratallops (province of Tarragona / Catalunya). The wine is made up of 45 % Samsó (Carinyena), 40 % Garnatxa, 10 % Cabernet Sauvignon and 5 % Syrah and was matured for 12 months in barriques (20 % new, 80 % second and third use). Decanted: one hour in advance. Beautiful dark cherry-red color with violet edges and a sumptuous nose of blueberry, cassis, violets and also some smoky tones. The palate reveals great concentration and mouth feel, layers of ripe black fruit and perfectly integrated tannins. Warm, persistent finish. Provides already great drinking pleasure at present, but it has also a long life ahead.

  • Ap: dark purple
Ar: only soapish oak the first day, showed sweet dark fruit with medium intensity on The second. The oak was also more relaxed after a day.
Medium bodied, ok balance and medium intense palate
    Good length

Again a lecture about being patience and never drink too early.

Haven’t tried that many priorat wines, so I wouldn’t guess too much about The potential. In any case, right now is the wine very oaky, and the tannins are very present, so waiting a few years wouldn’t hurt.

  • Perhaps the error with this one was that it was the 7th bottle of the night...oops. Any subtlety would have been rendered null by that stage. Black fruit, forward, limited finish but definite velvety mouth feel. Have had nicer Priorat's but this is reasonable value.

  • Slow o for 4 hours. Very dark purple color compared to the Camins del Priorat we drank with it. Very Jekyll and Hyde. No tannins present at first and it tasted just flat. A few minutes in the glass and it opened up to show nicely, but then fell flat again. Needs time maybe?

  • Very well structured wine with a velvet mouthfeel and with a lovely fruit. Mostly black currant. A hint of sweet coco tones from the oak is showing as well. Nice one.

  • Deep purple colour. Nose of baked earth, charred red pepper, blueberry and anise. Medium-full body. Lots of mocha and blue-black fruit on the palate. Tannins are dense, well structured and a bit grippy. Revisit in 5 years.

  • Sweet jammy, fig like nose. Soft entry some pretty good acidity and lively fruit. Seems very young still but very pure and not overdone. Should be great in about 5 years.
