VINTAGE 2010 Dinner (Galletto Ristorante, Modesto Ca.): Cellared since release, splash decanted then open in bottle for 4hrs. What a treat to drink this unicorn! First off...14yr old Ca. SB...and it was fresh as a daisy! GORGEOUS nose of spring flowers, lemongrass exotics, little petrol...it had a softness that was very intriguing...lemon chiffon...plenty youthful sour tarts, but really low on acidity...not a lot of cut, but by no means lessened the wine. Exotic and tropical...gooseberry, white peach/flower...has that waxiness and salted minerals...a really calm and impeccably balanced, well made wine. Drank at peak form all night! A true pleasure.

Although some people will take a knock at this wine based on it's price, I prefer to judge it solely on what was in the bottle. This wine was drank at a local restaurant before dinner. It was chilled as we were drinking it. The wine was clear and a mid level yellow in colour. Although in the onset it had a slight barnyard nose to it, this gave way to a bouquet of citrus smells and some petroleum once it met a proper serving temperature. The wine showed flavours of butter, lemons and a hint of grass and it also had a slight tanginess to it. Overall, this rare treat of a wine was very enjoyable.
Chef's Counter @ Meadowood-- 20 course tasting menu. Subtle oak backbone. Minerality mixed with spring flowers and grass. Pretty correct overall. A great wine to start an amazing night. Worth the price? Of course not, but with only 50 cases made it sure was a treat

Pale yellow color. Very distinct Sauvignon Blanc notes on nose and palate. The aromas are of elder flower, white flowers in a grassy field, wet stones and white pepper. Very intense on the nose. On the palate it is very refreshing with lively acidity. Many of the same notes as on the nose, and the same kind of distinct intensity. Very long aftertaste.

Interesting to drink because of its scarcity. Pale yellow, flowery pretty nose (not in the grassy style), moderate acids well balanced with fruit but lacking in extraction and with a short finish. Don't think this will get any better or last very long.
