Always a lovely experience to drink some Littorai. This had notes of cola, baking spices, cinnamon, and cranberries. High acidity, crunchy fruits, and moderately layered. Light bodied and easily gulpable. Delicious stuff.
If I didn't see the label, I would have guessed a much newer producer instead of the OG. A surprise, for sure!

13.1% abv. Light burgundy in color, very aromatic. This wine enters with sweet red cherry and finishes dryer. Well balanced, good depth, excellent length. Very enjoyable now with the potential for improvement over the next several years.

Damn good. I wish more California Pinot tasted like this - there's really bright, sappy red and dark berried fruit with light floral and sweet, cinnamon-like baking spice accents, and it turns more savoury with some air as more low toned earthy notes emerge on the finish. There's bright acid and some grainy tannin on the back end giving it structure, and the whole package is very elegant and restrained (at a mere 13.1% alcohol). Easily among the best CA Pinots I've had.

Deep ruby. Balanced, and very well-made -- but a bit one-dimensional, as one of our experienced guests commented. And then we had the rest over the next three nights (gassed and refrigerated in between). It remained rather mono-dimensional, with some subtle cola flavors (not our favorite), but still well-balanced.

13.1% abv. Medium burgundy red. Expressive aromas. Raspberry, black cherry, Asian spice, forrest floor and a citrus note. Fresh and lively. Enjoyable now and should continue to evolve over the next several years.

Garnet in color, medium bodied, slow legs, strawberry drizzled in white chocolate, almond extract, red fruit on the nose. Tart bing cherry on the tongue, many layers, tannins on the finish, excited to taste this wine in a couple of years.

Has changed significantly in past year. Much sweeter after decanting...not anywhere as firm as tasted at winery for release party. Maybe in a weird spot. Had really high hopes for this...

2012 Pinot on the River (Town Square, Healdsburg, California): Medium dark cherry red color; floral, strawberry, tart cherry, light sandalwood, violets nose; tasty, tart cherry, tart strawberry, light rosehips palate with medium acidity; needs 2-plus years and should age beautifully, like a very good Pommard or Gevrey; medium-plus finish (no whole cluster; vineyard planted in 1998)

This possessed everything I love in a great Pinot. Dark cherry, floral, spice, well balanced. Just a lovely drinking experience all around.

Really pretty strawberry and cherry fruit with savory herbs, spice and earth. Young, but fantastic.
