From memory. Decanted 2 hours, slightly ttawny pale garnet. Shy, clean light dry flowers and red fruit nose, fresh fruity middle palate with soft edges, medium finish. In comparison to the many more northern Piemonte nebbiolos I have been tasting, this wine had more body, less acid, and more robust tannins, but very much fit in. Enjoyed with seared sous vide sirloin and chanterelle sauce.

I wish we had more time and aerated for an hour to give full justice to this one, but we didn't and had to endure only 3/4 of it's full potential. Not as good as 71, but not a slouch either.

Birth year wine! Browning, barnyardy nose betrays the sweetness and liveliness and suave character of the palate. I have very little experience drinking Nebbiolo as old as I am, but the sheer drinkability of this was stunning--one can drink it like water. Bloody mary barnyard, and sweet soy sauce. Some celery leaf. Wish I had more to experiment with! Allegedly Francesco Rinaldi's work, sold off to Barisone for cash flow back in the day.

A Good Tuesday, Vol. VII: Italians: B Mascarello, E Pepe, Occhipinti, Burlotto, Barisone, Molettieri...: Blind---beautiful. Soft. So much acid. Tastes younger than it's age. Light but powerful. Red fruit that is savory and silky. Delish. A revelation.

Last bottle, at Nicola, not as impressive as a few days ago but still delicious with beef Wellington.

Medium garnet. Decanted 10 hours, absolutely fresh fruity and harmonious, lacking only in power. Delicious with chicken liver mushroom pasta.
