This has ripe, black fruits, vanilla, quite aromatic though and the oak much better integrated. Medium/full bodied, dark fruit, some richness here but underlying firm tannins still rpesent, fresh acids, good if not outstanding length on the finish. Enjoyed this but not at the level of the Ponsot that preceeded it,

1/6, excellent cork. Quite youthful, medium/ruby garnet core, pale garnet rim. Nose shows smoky red fruit, touch of liquorice, soil and a slight herbal note. Medium/full bodied on the palate with spicy red fruit, fine but still firm tannic backbone, quite big but a core of pure red fruit and attractive offsetting vibrant acids which carry a very good length if still slightly firm finish. If time softens the tannins this could become outstanding.

Medium red with an elegantly dull sheen. Nose of mild manure and some cherry. A bit bland. Low alcohol, very nice and slightly bitter/sour raspberry. Mouth-puckering tannins.

Violets, earth, pure burgundian nose, wilted cherry emerging; sudden, expansive concentric circles of wilted cherry and earth; somewhat cloying 1 Hour: Both nose and palate more integrated but very much the same impressions

I got a lot of black cherry fruit here, along with some red, and what I wrote in my notes, a 'crystalline' quality. I have found when I anchor on that descriptor that I am trying to often describe a wine where the fruit is transparent and showing a pure quality. So, think of it here that way. I also found a tart edge to the fruit and some aromatic funk. Pretty cool wine to get into the glass and enjoy with salmon. Nothing to retaste today so can't validate my impressions.

A great showing. Rich fruit that retains a juicy, fresh quality. Lots of depth. Nice animal and spice notes on the close. One of those Burgundies where you can get lost in the nose. Will improve for a few more years, but quite good right now.

Farewell Filippo, Il Duomo table (La Trompette, London): Quite a meaty and evolved nose. Rich and meaty with a core of dark sweet fruit. A dark and luxurious quality to the fruit. A density. ****
