2011 CHATEAU MOUTON ROTHSCHILD AILE d`ARGENT BLANC- a blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, this was delightful from the nose to the tail; it had a generous amount of grapefruit/ citrus notes, medium weight and was in nice balance.

HDH Bordeaux Auction; 10/30/2015-10/31/2015 (Chicago, IL): Very high-toned, organic-solvent-inflected nose, with some waxy pears and other yellow fruit. The palate's quite oaky, and there's some unpleasant drying sensation from that oak. This has a slightly waxy texture on the palate as well, and some coconutty quality. I'd prefer this to have more freshness and acidic tang.

Enjoyable with a nectarine/citrus/pastry creme (sans sweetness) vibe going on and a clever finish with a bit of mineral bite. Balanced and pleasant. Did really nicely with some cheeses, but I really don't think it is anything special or outperforms its overall class.

A Matter of Taste tasting (London, Saatchi Gallery): Youthful and expressive bouquet with white and yellow fruits and a firm dose of luxurious oak. Same on the palate and the fruits can handle the oak. Good citrus and freshness. Full bodied and a great length. This wine will benefit with some more ageing. Around 2018…? 92+ for today

A blend of Sauvignon Blanc (60%), Sémillon (38%) and Muscadelle (2%). 14% alcohol.
Intense honey yellow color. Somewhat restrained nose with understated, oaky complexity; there are aromas of butter, ripe yellow apples, some vanilla and a hint of lemon zest. The wine is full-bodied, dry and broad on the palate with noticeably rich yet still surprisingly fresh flavors of yellow stone fruits, spicy wood, some nuttiness, a little bit of butter, a hint of vanilla and a touch of very ripe apple. Despite its weight and richness, the wine comes across as surprisingly fresh with its moderately high acidity. The lengthy finish is slightly warm, yet cooler and more fresh than the midpalate with some minty herbal notes and restrained yet nuanced flavors of wood spice, some peach-driven stone fruits, a little bit of vanilla and a hint of woody bitterness.
A big, impressive and concentrated Bordeaux Blanc that feels pretty balanced, although still perhaps a bit disjointed and awkward at the moment: the acidity could be a bit higher, the alcohol a bit lower and the wood tones still tend to dominate the flavor profile pretty much. For now the wine comes across as quite big and thus impressive in its own way, but ultimately offering relatively little pleasure, which is why I'd let the wine age for a lot longer. I'd imagine a wine like this needs at least 10 years to come together, so there is definitely no need to pop any bottles open. A promising wine, but doesn't feel like it is or will be worth its price at 94,80€.

I am not a fan of white wines usually but this was very good. Very buttery, caramel, toffee, citrus. Not overly sweet. Really nice and soft.
