A very drinkable Bordeaux. Since there are no other reviews, I assume this is not widely available. This is ready to drink with a brief decant. Classic notes of Cassis on the palate. Tannins are fading, and this should be good now or over the next few years.

If you look in the Bordeaux dictionary under "modern," guess what shows up there? This wine. This is the most modern of moderns, and it tastes like pillow forts soaked in honey. (This is not a bad thing.) Feels Merlot dominant though it turns out not to be. I really enjoyed it.

Dark profile with bright aromatics, earth, allspice, full body and a long finish. This is a big wine with balance. Paired great with mushroom turkey burger and mushroom rice. Awesome wine now and for the future.

My view is that this is a great food wine - one you enjoy well and truly. I agree with other views that this isn't your typical Bordeaux claret but it does not need to be to give you the pleasure it promises. Coming from a difficult but not bad vintage like 2011, this wine displays a lustrous garnet color with a distinct fading on the rim. The nose develops slowly ( yes I do reccomend an hour of decant) and develops from fruity, kirschy and blackberry aromas to the typical gravel and hot stone & tar aromas of graves. The hot gravel is very prominent after an hour of decant. On the palate the fruit is very apparent with hardly any tannins obvious but a good backbone. The wine is rich and full bodied with a long juicy finish though not opulent and luscious - I think it may well develop into a superb 2011 Stellar example with another few years of cellaring. Good buy to drink or keep !

First bottle from a case bought on release following Parker's enthusiastic review. Pnp with steak at home. Very dark garnet lightening towards the rim. Then the nose, which is very clearly Southern Rhone with kirsch and other dark fruit, a touch of alcohol, spices and a touch of toast. Similar on the attack which is round and rich with that spiciness I am only really used to from GSM blends. The mid palate, perhaps this is where you get a little bit of Bordeaux, as it's just a bit firmer than expected, however overall still very smooth with no real edges from the tannins. Short to medium finish. 13.5% alc. On one hand this wine is amazing: in a difficult vintage like 2011, today's wine making allows us to produce in Pessac a very good and rather typical Southern Rhone styled GSM blend. On the other hand, why should I buy such a wine from Bordeaux and not simply go directly to Southern Rhone with its great QPRs? This wines takes the question of typicity to a completely different level than that never-ending discussion on whether 2003 or 2009 are true expression of Bordeaux or more Cali Cabs. At least all of those wines still clearly showed as (blends of) Cabernet Sauvignon.

Not my style, but I can see why this may please certain folks. Big wine, full bodied, lots of fruit, earthy, raisiny, funky. Reminds me of Southern Rhone. Could improve in the next years. Will give another try in the future.

Nose is rich with black cherries, wet earth, smoke, spices, and fruitcake....its just wonderful. Body is medium-full with polished tannins and sweetly rich dark fruit. Finish is medium with just a bit of grip. This should have a good life ahead. Will buy more.

Good quality Bordeaux, but with quite heavy roasted oak. Lots of coffee and tar, but also some interesting funk and a slightly perfumed fruit. Medium acidity, good intensity and balance. Round with no tannins to speak of.

Ripe red and black fruit, firm tannins, a dark core of fruit on the finish. Yet I am underwhelmed by it in general. It's one dimensional to me. Perfectly quaffable. Perhaps it will improve, as it's very young. Give it a few years and see if it improves. 2016-2024.

Smoky, rich and polished, with fresh black cherries, soft tannins and round textures, this wine will deliver a lot of bang for the buck for the next decade.

From 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc, the wine will be aged in 40% new oak. Blackberry, earth and smoke open to round tannins and a finish with fresh, sweet cocoa and blackberry with hints of blue fruit. 89-91 Pts
