Drinks nice. Aromas of sweet cherries. Nice, simple red fruit on the palate - smooth and sweet (cherries persist), no tannin or bitterness. A touch of acidity on the finish.

Easy drinking blend. A little lighter than the color suggests but decent balance and tannins that promote dry finish without being astringent. Good fruit flavors. We paired with spagetthi and it was a solid match.

Enjoyed this at a Chicago Chophouse. It was easy drinking and still bold enought to pair well with nice grass fed beef. I think we'll add some to the cellar as a value priced everyday drinker.

Been tasting this wine for about 20 years and think they have settled themselves into a wine making groove we all can appreciate. Most of my previous experience with this wine involves oak, probably way too much of it. There is no doubt about the influence of oak with this wine, but it is not so much center stage. They seem to be allowing the inherent sensible tasting qualities of Sangiovese, California style, show through. When done right, the big ripe fruit, big alcohol, and big oak can harmonize together, and this one is done the right way. My palate picks out some very nice black cherry all the way from the nose to the finish. One of those wines that though only medium bodied, can really coat the palate with creamy richness, that is why they need, and use the oak. It works. Probably could some bottle age. Decent, somewhat low key tannins. Basically enough acid to keep things in balance. Nice cherry, charcoal and vanilla finish.

A pleasant simple wine that doesn't try to be more than it is. I wish it were cheaper, though. Blueberries and blackberries on the nose. Both berries continue in lip-smackable form through the palate. Very eatable fruit. Pleasant.

At a restaurant – Ferrari Carano wine pairings with food. Nothing really complex here. The wine seemed pretty much closed. Other than blackberry and raspberry, anything else did not seem readily discernible. There’s plenty of fruit, but it seemed kind of flabby. JMO, Sangiovese based blends are not always a good concept; Sangiovese should be appreciated by itself, especially the ones made in Italy. And, here with Malbec purportedly being a significant %, I don’t get it. Again, of course, JMO.

Decanted for 1 hr. Medium body. Tastes of fruits, herbs, vanilla and were mostly consistent throughout the bottle. Enjoyable.

Slightly roasted nose which follows through with an extracted palate and toasty notes. Nothing offensive but nothing memorable.

I can really taste the spice right up front and then a slight oaky taste afterwards. Smelling deeply also brings out the spices.
