7/29/2018 6:29:00 PM - i have no argument. high pH does not equal high acid. look it up. like i said, i tried to help. and if you're quoting them, you might want to say that.

7/29/2018 6:18:00 PM - high PH is low acid, fwiw. "Ueberroth is the oldest of the Turley Zins. Limestone soil with high pH makes a high acid ". uh, no. hope this helps.

11/2/2016 11:03:00 AM - Perhaps we have a miscommunication, but my comments on Caymus Cabernet production are not "inaccurate." The production totals that I noted are from the Wine Spectator (WS) tasting notes and reflect a large increase in production volume for the two bottles of Caymus Cabernets over the past few vintages. My production numbers do NOT include the other labels that are owned / controlled by the Wagner family. I did not pull my information from the recent WS article on the Wagner family as is implied by your post. The production numbers were pulled from the WS site long before the recent article. If WS is posting the wrong case production numbers for individual wines on their reviews, then perhaps my conclusion about Caymus is not accurate but then the error would lie with WS for posting inflated case production numbers. For example, according to WS, Caymus Cabernet production jumped from 72,095 cases in 2011 to 122,158 in 2012. Unless these numbers from WS are not correct, Caymus has clearly ramped up production.

11/2/2016 6:11:00 AM - RobbieC Thank you for becoming a Fan of my Tasting Notes. I will be posting another 50 TN of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon this week if you care to read.

11/2/2016 6:09:00 AM - Please note your comments and those of Ghengis88 are slightly inaccurate, the wine bottled at Caymus was not the Caymus label but other labels, owned and operated by Chuck's children, primarily Belle Glos and Meomi labels with the juice trucked up to Napa. Wine Spectator states in the article their other labels owned and operated by them will be bottled in a new facility in Fairfield. The Caymus production will continue at 43,000 cases.

6/22/2016 8:10:00 AM - Your comments on Caymus doubling up production and the consequences therein are noted. it is impossible to retain the integrity of this classic through a massive increase in production. i too, will not be buying Caymus in the future. Thank you for your notes.
