Slow Oed for several hours prior to the evening. Dark and inky in the glass. Pretty nose of dark berries and flowers. Dark fruit on palette with some pepper. Not overly complex. Showed up pretty big compared to some old world bottles we had also on this night. A fun wine with notable tannins but these kpt the big fruit profile in check. Not sure what more age will do for this Big New World Wine.

Black fruit and pepper on the nose, along with dirt and violets, some iodine and leather, and a nice earthy finish. Rich and juicy on the palate, with sweet dark fruit, some leather and earth, pepper, and a nice floral finish.

This wine needed three days to open up. I dont want to work that hard for my wine. This effort was much less than the 2008 version. Huge wine that is showing its alcohol at this point.

Inky black in glass. Muted nose. Massive yet elegant, restrained dark fruits and savory on palate. Very tannic, and a touch of heat... but still in balance.

Had this with Haley in June and this is exactly as we remember it. It is nearly black in the glass and is really tannic but still shows elegant perfumed dark fruits. I'm not sure it has the depth for extended aging but I doubt I can stay out of them anyway.

Winery Tasting with Hayfork at the Lewelling Ranch which offered a fun and beautiful setting at the Lewelling Ranch. A fun petite syrah with layers of flavors, strawberry bright blueberry on the front with a balance midpalate with mocha/milk chocolate notes. Full Finish had good legs. low 90s-S

Thick, rich, dark fruit, like a year old!

Moderate decant. Took four days to really get the tannins to settle down. Once there had, was just ok. Nice, but not great.

Second time in 3 months but at a business dinner so I did not take notes. With that said, very enjoyable. -S
