Especially for the price, this is a gem. Rich and deep, everything you would expect from a Carmenere, and more than you would expect from an inexpensive one.

This is an extraordinarily good value wine. It is smooth, fragrant, delicious. It would make a great "house" wine, given its low price, even if most people haven't heard of Carmenere. Just serve it, they'll like it! I've had this wine many times over the years, and every time I like it. This vintage seems especially good, so I'm inclined to go out and buy a case right now! Maybe it's an 89, but I'll push to 90, like other raters, 'cause I loved it.

wow under ten and complex, real cork with winery stamp, fresh fruity, coffee, chocolate, bing cherries, skittles but not acidic, kind of sweet tart, tasty, young easy drinking and not tannic , will definitely get more as I am also curious as to ageing potential of this carmenere. My first carmenere.

lots of green pepper and jalepeno as well as coffee and blackcherry some plum and of course vanilla from the oak, all in all a decent carmenere for the price, went really well with grilled ribeye. medium body, moderate tannin , medium plus alcohol , medium low acidity, medium short finish.

2011 seems like another good vintage on a fairly consistently good ~$10 Chilean Carmenere. Dark, full-bodied red, nice strong tannins balanced by a complex dry but smokey, chocolatey, dark berry taste. I will watch this for sales and buy as a regular weekend treat. (Past years of it have a consistent average of ~85-86 on cellartracker. I give it a high mark for QPV: if you want an interesting and pleasing rich red for under $10, it's a best value.)

Starting to lose its fruit, probably best to drink before 2015. Still a good QPR, light-medium bodied with good balance and spiciness.

Interesting note of anise/licorice on the nose. Good fruit. Just a dependable, good QPR, weekday drinker.

Smooth but lacking any flavor. Nice burn in the finish but hardly any flavor in the beginning or middle.

Fine structure, with good foundation. There is a lot to taste here, on the soft side of the Carmenere

Anise, blackberry and tobacco. Smooth as silk, but not very complex. I've had much worse for much more money. At $7, stock up for the holiday guests.
