Not a great example of Hermitage, but the very reasonable price probably tells you that. It does taste like a Syrah from the northern Rhone, but more St Joseph than from the hill

deep red colour, lighter at the rim, redcurrant aroma and redcurrants on palate, a little, tannic, plenty of fruit showing and good length. Should last a few more years yet. Good with homemade burgers

Similar comments to previous tasting note. Tertiary aromas more prominent with leather, game, savoury flavours. Hasn’t improved and I think that it needs to be drunk up.

Deep garnet. Black pepper, damsons, liquorice, mint, cedar nose. Similar palate, well balanced, medium finish. Very good wine, probably at its peak ( I think) Will revisit at the end of the year. Longevity ? 5 years.

Very nice wine, full impactful flavour that lasts very well. Starting to show some secondaries, but might get just a little softer with age (acids a hair sharp), drink now through 2020.

Meaty, great vintage. Herbal with bacon, leather, salami. Long finish. Great value.
