Consistent with previous notes only more pronounced cherry blossoms on the nose with more specific savory notes on the palate and finish, including pipe tobacco, dried leather, dill, and smoked meat. Still very sweet with a nice core of cherries and blackberries, with good body and energy, while the finish is still tannic. Drink 2020-2026. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 92.

Medium Dark red with clear edges. Earthy dark cherry fruit with some cedar box, spice and tobacco. Delicious aged Sangiovese flavours and a slightly tannic dry finish.
Sadly my last bottle.

Opened and drank with burgers and potatoes. Dark ruby color with a crimson hue. Overall, consistent with previous notes but slightly more refined. Not ambitious but not a slacker either. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 90.

Medium black red. Medium intense developed nose showing cherry , plum, earth and herbs. Delicious slightly oxidized flavors of earthy, herbal dark cherry. Very dry finish, the acid is starting to show over the tannins.
This bottle showed a little past it's peak.

Medium light red. The colour was very encouraging and the nose as it developed brought beautiful medium weight notes of cherry, smoke, earth, with hints of vanilla and roasted meat. Delicious light cherry flavours and a nice balanced finish with grainy tannins.
Not at all a Super Tuscan wannabe.

Decanted an hour before dinner of cheese and sausage ravioli. Took about 30-min to open up. Juicy nose of dried cranberries, raspberries, musty leather, and wild herbs. The palate is full, round, and rustic, bringing dark cherries, chocolate raspberries, espresso bean, sweet tobacco, basil, olives, and candied red cherries into a lingering finish. Still slightly dusty with a pronounced pucker but overall more accessible than I expected at this age. Definitely not a great QPR but enjoyable wine nevertheless. Drink now - 2025.

Standard aroma of cherries and dried flowers, the palate is authentic, rustic, yet elegant, dried rose, cherry, dark berries, sandalwood, mineral and dry herb on the palate, excellent with Bolognese, drinking very well now

Tasted during a visit at the estate. Not too intense ruby color. At nose integrity and fruit: red and black. Dried flowers, violet, rose, lavender, tobacco. At palate it is structured; good balance, with important tannins and acidity. Medium long finish. Very traditional style Brunello, made in a simple way by simple people yet very good.

Montalcino visit June 2012; 6/8/2012-6/10/2012 (Montalcino): Ruby color. Full aromas of cherry, blackcurrant and red licorice with hints of spices and boxwood. Full bodied with silky tannins and balanced acidity. The finish is long and spicy. Well approachable right now and will develop for a few more years to come. Drink now - 2020.

Classic Brunello, however this bottle seemed ‘thin’.

Medium red. Soft nose of black cherry, earth, beef stock and exotic spices. Leathery dark fruit flavours and a decent balanced finish.
I decanted this for and hour and then left it in the bottle for 2 hours before it's turn came. It was actually better when first decanted.
