way past its prime or something. This wine is absolutely garbage. Maybe cause its a 09, or maybe the place I bought it didnt take care of it. Either way....almost puked

Fruit forward, some smooth and nicely integrated tannins, almost a light smoky note supporting a palate of raspberry and some herbal elements. Moderate finish. An easy drinker, fine on its own or with hearty party snacks. Seems to be aimed at those who might like the mid-priced red blends like Apothic Red, but vastly better and well worth the difference in price. Drink now through 2017.

Dark crimson in color. Subtle spice, berry, and tobacco nose. Plenty of spice and tannin on the pallet. Medium finish. Good blend. Bought 7 bottles. Good purchase.

Notes remain consistent with my 7/2/2013 review. Dusty raspberry with hints of vanilla and licorice. Definitely muted on first open, needs to come to room temp and about an hour of air then it really comes into its own. Fruit forward without being jammy; dusty aspect gives it a complexity that is a notch above where its price point would suggest. Recorked and put in refrigerator for a day, returned to room temp, and on day two it was still tasting very well.

Glorious stuff, light purple with hints of vanilla, berries and cigar smoke.. light well integrated tannins, drink it young to 2016
I didn't catch too much acidity as per the comments below and am liking this way more than the average 88/100 scores below
I expected very little of this cheap multi-blend red @ $22 from Michaels in Riverhead NY.
32% Merlot, 24.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Zinfandel, 8.5% Syrah, 5.5% Petite Sirah, 4.5% Sangiovese, 3% Carignane, and a pinch of Touriga, Grenache, Mourvedre and Petit Verdot in minute amounts..

A great daily drinker at a good price point, punching a bit above its weight class. Dusty raspberry with hints of vanilla and licorice. Clearly has some of the DNA from the great blends coming from Beaulieu (e.g. Tapestry, Georges de Latour) but at a price point that makes it a no-brainer to open for burgers or take-out pizza or just for no good reason at all.

Actually thought it was more approachable this time around. Solid core of fruit with some structure / tannin. I agree that there is some complexity to this wine.

Aromas of red fruit, hints of vanilla. Pleasant mix of red and black fruit on the palate, with a touch of vanilla. Fairly acidic, medium tannins. Some complexity on the palate, but only fleeting. This is a good, balanced wine, classic BV notes in a very complex blend (32% Merlot, 24.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Zinfandel, 8.5% Syrah, 5.5% Petite Sirah, 4.5% Sangiovese, 3% Carignane, and a pinch of Touriga, Grenache, Mourvedre and Petit Verdot). Decent price for the quality, drink now (would benefit from 1+ hour decanting) or cellar for a few years, but probably no more than 5. The price direct from BV is a bit high, but I found it cheaper at several retailers and will be stocking up a few.
red fruited nose with alcohol and some vanilla. on the palate, a very different mixture of red and some dark fruit. relatively, high acids, medium tannins, with medium fruit. the components seemed to work well together. good drink, but not really impressive in any way. probably not designed in nature but crafted to perform.
decanted for 30 minutes. followed over 2 hours period.

This wine just needs more time. Day 1 decanted for 60+ minutes. Tasted a lot of structure and tannin. The fruit was not coming through. Day 2 it was much better. The dark fruit (Classic BV Flavors), vanilla really come through. For $15 a bottle this is a great wine. I will probably drink my other 5 bottles in 2014+.

I took a glass out of the bottle and put the rest in the decanter. What a great and complex nose of varied red fruit with a fresh floral backdrop. Wow.
On the pallet there is red fruit up front, the mid pallet is dominated by oak and dark chocolate, dark chocolate and peppery spice on the finish.
After an hour in the decanter the flavors were softer and more friendly but the bouquet had softened as well and was not as interesting as when I first pored it. Take your pick, or do what I did and play with some in a glass for an hour then drink from the decanter.
It stood up well with pasta and a peppery marinara sauce. This wine is far too good to serve to the inlaws.

Nose shows raisinated fruit, cherry, raspberry. Palate also raisinated, black cherry, molasses, pomegranate. Medium plus tannins. Interesting stuff.
