Overripe dark and red candied fruit. Strong rhubarb. Drying tannins and high acidity. Big but not hot. I guess just lacking complexity at this point. Still totally primary.

Great wine at a very good place. Cork removed at 2 and 3.5 hours later we drank over another 1.5 hours. Open for business with great plum fruit, milk chocolate and some spicy flavors in a slightly off dry style that is certainly crowd pleasing.

The last of my 2010s and regretful for opening as this could easily go another 5 years before coming into its prime. You can tell this is a monster but was very closed. If consuming now I would highly recommend decanting.

Tasting with Will Segui (Mending Wall - Napa): Opened about an hour before first pour and taste; nose was super perfumed with sweet tobacco and dark blue and black fruits; one of those wines that brings much joy simply sniffing in the glass; palate was full of blue and black fruit, tobacco, graphite; even after almost 10 years, this was still super tannic; re-visited after 9-10 hours and not much had changed...telling me this is still quite young.
This was my first RM Corona and I really enjoyed it; really rich and luscious Oakville fruit layers. Interesting vineyard as well...an old site, steep hillside, no shade, producing tiny berried fruit out of what used to be an old gravel pit.

Hum... I was a touch disappointed. Normally a good vintage and I love these wines generally. A touch fragmented. Nose of dark berry, subtle oak, menthol, forest floor. A bit fragmented on the palate. Full mouth feel. Not that intriguing.

Opened, poured a glass, and recorked. Tasted about 2 hours later. Dark color. Nose offers some dark cherries and black plums. Wonderful cherry and plum flavors with an enjoyable dried cocoa powder on the finish. Delicious.

kind of disappointed here. I thought that this had a syrupy compote-like palate. Definitely a black fruit dominant profile. Blackberry, boysenberry, currants. Fat mid-palate. It is a complete and well structured wine, with plenty of acidity to let it go 10 more years. I may have opened this much too early.

Drank over two nights. Better on night 2. Still young with upside potential. Purple in color. The nose has cassis, spice, slight menthol and a bit of char. On the palate, this is deep. Great texture. Showing some layering as it unwinds in the glass. One of those wines that demands attention with every sip. Long finish. Great now, hold if you can though, for just a few more years.

Straight out of the bottle, the nose on this wine was very promising. Deep and rich. A really good Napa cab nose. But the attack was - how do I put this - tart. Extremely tart. It had almost a bitterness to it, similar to an under ripe piece of fruit. Sorta like an under ripe orange, but without the citrus flavors of an orange. I'm hoping some time & air mellows this out a bit. To be continued...

I was disappointed given the reviews from others. I found the fruit lacking in richness and the tannins were not refined. I would not recommend for this price when better wines at this same value. Try HALL.

Apres ski dinner at Steamboat. After not having much luck with the few RM Napa cab bottlings I was crossing my fingers on the single vineyards. This one finally came through big time Really good stuff and up there with my favorite all time cabs. Tons of dark currant fruit and a very long finish that builds from first taste. Not a lot of earthiness type complexity if that's what your looking for as this one is all about the layers of fruit and the texture.

PnP with initial notes of red currant, red and black cherry, tart raspberry, anise, clove, and some granite dust. Tight, with a bit of a chalky finish that muted the fruit on the back end. 91 points with the first few sips on the PnP.
Into the decanter it went for an hour+ in hopes it would stretch its legs more and ratchet up the depth of flavor. Sure enough, it did just that. Deep red/purple plum, ripe red and black currant, chocolate, cedar, and faint baking spice.
From hour-one to hour-four, this was delivering at its apex. After nearly four hours in the decanter, this slowly started to fade and become a bit muddled. The plum note became more prominent on the back end. Still good, but it exhibited progressively less delineated layers of identifiable complexity over an extended time.
93 points when it was firing on all cylinders. Drink now with a short decant, or hold for a year or two before consumption. Not a wine you want to cellar for the next decade.

Impressions from a weekend in Napa Valley (Napa Valley): The depth of flavor on this wine is intense. Thick and layered dark fruit with a gripping tannin structure. Killer value at the price in comparison to so many other cabs from Napa in the price range. In the decanter for roughly 3 hours before trying.

Rich and luscious that opened a little tight but quickly showed it's stuff. Has great cassis, currant, black fruit and well integrated tannins. Some sweetness to the fruit but complex and refined with a really nice smooth finish

Stunner. Everyone loved this wine, even without a decant. Great cab juice! So balanced already - smooth and silky in the mouth with a killer finish, the tannins are already in check. Just wow!

A luscious, seductive wine. Cherry, licorice (twizzlers, not anise), and lots of red fruit. The label says 14.5 percent alcohol, but no obvious heat. Elegant -- complex and layers of depth, but not overly concentrated. This wine has the structure to age, but is drinking great right now. It is hard to imagine it getting better than this. Incredible.
Decanted 3 hours and consumed over 2. That still wasn't enough air. Early on, this was richly fruited with cassis, raspberry, blackberry, and vanilla flavors, but not showing a lot of complexity and had firm, drying tannins. Towards the end of the bottle, some complexity began to show in the way of earthy, roasted herbs and a graphite minerality. Will be a nice wine, but needs 5-8 years. 92+
