My last bottle. I think this was much improved with additional age. Lots of citrus and minerality with a creamy texture in the mid-palate. It had long finish and showed quite well with some broiled white flesh fish. Some sweet floral elements that belie the stony dryness of the wine that still finishes succulent.

Une grande réussite dans ce millésime difficile. Ample, texturé, sur la tarte à la lime et miel. L’acidité est étonnamment présente et apporte fraîcheur, un vin de bouffe qui s’est merveilleusement accordé avec la coquille St-Jacques.

after a couple hours open this showed wonderful notes of integrated orchard fruit/lemon and honeysuckle, great body with viscous finish. Acid levels were perfect for me. Just lovely now.

My high score here reflects that fact that this is a great wine from great terroir. Cool and lemony on the nose. Not a ton of acid but not at all flabby. Expansive in the mouth - very stony / lemony and clearly SB. All of this said, I think I'm just not that into Sancerre.

Nose of fennel, lychee, flowers, lilly of the valley. Some bitterness of lime and grapefruit on the palate as well as gooseberies, Some bitterness on the finish as well as long herbal note. One can feel the oak, this is not as crunchy as a generic Sancerre, medium accidity. Finish is off-dry. More mineral than the Grande Cote of the same year. Very good if you like the style.

This was pretty good, but only pared in comparison to same vineyard from Francois Cotat in 2010 drank recently. Good straw color and lemon/citrus on nose and on the palate. It just didn't have the same luscious fruit / acidity tension as the other one did. If you like more stony versions of Sancerre, this might be your preference to be fair.

A business lunch (Restaurant Aan de Poel **, Amstelveen, NL): Not decanted this time. Incredibly smooth and harmonious for such a young wine, a miracle of elegance, nothing out of place, only vignerons like Raveneau of Cotat seem to be able to achieve this; touch of fennel again in evidence.

A business lunch (Restaurant Aan de Poel **, Amstelveen, NL): Decanted. Very similar to my previous note. Not very communicative yet, but wonderfully balanced and harmonious, silky, with calm acidity and just a hint of honey to round things out. Its minerally depths remain hidden for the time being. Should last 10 - 15 years.

A business dinner (Restaurant Aan de Poel **, Amstelveen, NL): Extremely youthful, fennel, flowers, rounded and seamless but tightly wound, hints of spice and liquorice; from the depths, flavours of citrus fruit and gooseberry emerge, good mineral core; very good length.

Pnp. Pale lemon in color. Initially on opening the nose was rather muted but given time it really opened up and displayed melon, pear, spice and floral notes. Dry, leaning to Off-Dry the texture was silky soft, round in the mouth with a nice lingering finish. Curious how this will evolve since it certainly presents itself quite well currently.

Les Monts Damnes and mature White Bordeaux: Quite elegant, crispy but vegetal, fennel and cat's piss on the nose. Young, but enjoyable now.
