  • Still going! I'm impressed. Still got some red and black cherries and plums, along with lots of menthol, mint, clove, mushroom, green and black pepper. Medium/full-bodied with mulled cherries and plums. Dusty/light tannins, crisp acidity, with leather, mushroom, soy, stewing spices and beefy notes. Complex and harmonious at this point in its life. Surprised at how well this has shown, and it could be a fun blind to toss into a Loire Cab Franc tasting. Cab Franc and Merlot.

  • Quite nice. Tasted this double blind at an informal brown bag tasting. Knew it was New World and guessed Alexander Valley. Cinnamon and Allspice, dustiness, and ripeness on the nose and palate. The wine finishes with fine grained, Grenache-like tannins. Tasty.
