A very delightful Barolo. Surprisingly youthful. Warm balsamic tones dominate with a bit of damp earth. Complex on the nose and palate. A great rich fruit core. In a nice drinking window with no rush. Drank with Peposo over Polenta.
From the TN assistant: The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like mushroom, forest floor and fig. It tastes like dark fruit, fig, and violet. The body is full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has high acidity.

Wonderful notes of porcini mushrooms, tobacco, worn leather and dried cherries. Light on its feet, but a wonderful finesse in the palate and nose. This wine is in a perfect drinking window. I wish I had learned about Barolo a few years ago. Good juice.

On opening: big classic nose of roses, tar, cherry, earth. High intensity palate of more red fruit, earthiness, peppery finish. Good acid and tannins showing. Will be good with food in a couple of hours. Very long finish. Wow, this is good. If I had more bottles (sadly not) I would think they would have many good years ahead.

Three hour decant, the nose is savory, with herbal elements along with a light cherry aspect. The palate is very acidic but not in an overwhelming way, the tannic structure is big enough to balance the acidity out. Light cherry continues from the nose and the herbal flavors become more pronounced. This has room for more aging but with a long enough decant is great do drink now.

A whiff of mildew on the cork but the wine was, if not perfect, acceptable. Probably not in perfect condition so no rating, but clear ruby, no browning, and fine with veal saltimbocca and spaghetti carbonara.

Red fruit, tobacco and leather are totally in balance here. Elegant in style. Wonderful texture. Not the most complex Barolo, but very enjoyable. Drinking in its sweet spot now.

Medium weigh Barolo featuring red fruit, tobacco and a touch leather. I really like the balance and freshness in this wine. Plenty of enjoyment in this wine's future.

Beautiful, somewhat perfumed bouquet with cherries, earth, tea, dark berries, rose hips, leather, tobacco, herbs and some autumn impressions. On the palate cherries, earth, licorice, coffee, herbs, a touch of sweetness, iron, good acidity and tannin. Elegant wine in its young maturity stage. Will improve with a few more years of ageing.

Beau vin frais et digeste. Le nez est florale avec une peu de tabac et de cerises. En bouche, c`est ample et bien équilibré. Cerises et anis avec un peu de boisé et des tannins charnus. Assez long et persistant.

14.5% alc...my first from Cogno...slight bricking at the rim...nose of roses, can certainly detect the higher alcohol, iron...again on the palate a bit higher in alcohol than I prefer my Barolo, but that doesn't necessarily detract from what others enjoy (pulled straight from the 50 degree cellar), firm tannin, baked red fruits, just can't get past the heat - there is some pretty fruit lurking in the background of the finish.

(Artisan Wine Depot Los Gatos) - Cherries and flowers on the nose. Earthy flavors with sweet tannins lasting through the finish. Enjoyable now.

Good structure. Tart red fruit and still fairly tannic. Still needs time, probably a couple more years at least.
