This wine was a delight... ample-bodied with beautiful fruit. Just a touch of Brett-y funk which gave this a much needed-edge. The acidity and tannins were pretty calm by this point. And while I think this wine has peaked, I suspect it has another year or two.
By no means a “grand vin,” I found this bottle to be balanced, interesting, and above all delicious. I liked it so much I snatched up a 2016 I saw recently with high hopes for the future!

This is nice right out of the bottle but continues to improve for a couple of hours. Black fruit with a layer of cedar/graphite on the palate. Medium tannins, medium acidity. Nice finish.

Left Bank Bordeaux tasting (Le Petit Sommelier): The nose is clean, med/med+ intensity, showing rich and fresh fruit like black cherry and black currant, graphite, jammy character, youthful. The wine is dry, medium body and intensity, medium alcohol and acidity, tannins medium, cinnamon odly at first and then the fruits kick in with currants and cherry/berry, balanced overall, round and smooth, easy to drink with a med finish. Very good quality, drinking now but could hold.

Tasted one glass non-blind at Grand Cru Wine Bar & Bistro in Arlington VA. Pleasant rustic flavor profile and the back palate was nice but the body of this wine, throughout the entire glass, was a bit watery in the front of the mouth. Would have been high 80s but for that.

Full bodied, with ample tannin.
This should continue to develop for a few years.
