Tasted over 2 hrs -translucent light-med gold -sweet gentle lemon sea breeze -med acidity gives a little poke to the otherwise softly textured feel, med weight mostly faded lemon leaving behind some saline minerality, average length -understated yet pure Chablis, not profound but excellent as one would expect from this master vigneron, while not yet developing overt mature elements not sure this gains much from here

Beautiful nose with slight reduction, yellow fruit, minerals, lemon, and a hint of smoke. Nice acidity with more lemon and lemon zest notes, and overall quite fruit forward and broad on the palate. Nice finish. This was really good but almost opulent in it's richness and weight. The acidity kept it in check, though.

Brief note. Drunk over three evenings, during which it did not change. Relatively deep gold colour but no sign of premox. Quality 1er Chablis. 2011 acids have now softened. Rich citrus - limes and grapefruit - and some orchard fruit but chalky minerals with precision and focus. Flavour complexity: crushed ginger, blanched almonds and touches of salinity. Now in balance, for optimal drinking over the next 10+ years.

Drank over two hours from a decanter. Showed not much changes from first to last sip. Apple pear cider, round and balanced mouthfeel. Acidity lacking a bit maybe due to vintage. Very enjoyable.

couleur jaune doré avec reflets verdatre léger. Nez aérien de citron confit, de coquillage. Bouche ample, avec une rondeur en milieu de bouche et une finale bien tranchante. Tres beau vin.

Dark golden color but not oxidized or over the hill at all - fresh floral/linen nose, super concentrated on the palate with crystallized ginger, candied lemon, nutty notes.. Raveneau strikes again!

91-92 pts

Raveneau @ Arlequin (Arlequin SF): Compared to the 2012 this is more reductive, closed down. Burnt toast. Still has phenomenal length and citrus fruit.

Senn-d off (part 2): Chablis at Nico Osteria (Chicago, IL): In contrast to the power of the 2011 Montee de Tonnerre, we had the Forets, which was much, much more fruit forward and showing copious amounts of ripe fruit and less acidity than the MdT as well. Rounder, and a bit of a simpleton, this was a very foursquare and uninspiring bottle of Raveneau.

Chilled a bit then popped and poured. Pale white gold color. Nose of oyster shell, white rock, grapefruit, apple core, alpine flowers. Young, ripe, petrol-laden notes on the palate with pure layers of melon, grapefruit, granny apple, and schist. Energizing acidity lending freshness and cut. Transitions to a satisfying finish of mineral and zesty white fruit. Very enjoyable and hopefully capable of long life of evolution.

Lunch au Bouillon Bilk Superbe! Sec et minéral, avec tout de même un bon gras et une certaine exubérance et se boit très bien sur cette jeunesse fringuante. J'ai beaucoup aimé. 91-92 pts

Quite peachy at first but gets all sorts of floral wisteria nuance and saline Chablis character with air. Full, generous and rich in the mouth with layers of orchard fruits sprinkled with salt. Length of flavour is good.

Very yellow color. Quite mature and accessible, rich style, maybe not the most complex and sharp vintage.

Belle fraîcheur, minéral et salin, mais avec une belle rondeur en attaque, équilibré et de longueur moyenne mais très bon.
Very nice freshness, mineral and saline, nice roundness, crisp and balanced, medium length but real good. 91-92

Fresh steely citrus Chablis with that silky Raveneau mouthfeel. A touch of funk in this one, but a crowd pleaser nonetheless.

Still very young. Light on it's feet, citrus dominates, oily texture, honey-notes, minerals - a classic Ravenau in the making. 92+ point

Raveneau Mini-Verticals--Les Forêts and Montée de Tonnerre (Arlequin Wines, San Francisco): Light yellow. More herbs and sea breeze than the '12. Lighter weight than that wine, more crystalline and less obvious oak. Not as fruit driven, but tart green apple toward the finish. Light and bright-very good.
