This bottle was just ok. We did not love it nearly as much as previous bottles. Not sure if our tastes have changed or if it was this bottle. The wine felt a bit one dimensional and flabby - all earthiness and nothing else. 3/15/13 disgorgement. My score is higher than what we felt this bottle deserves - we are giving points based on previous experience with this producer.

With three years of post disgorgement aging, this is really singing. It's still electric pink, still has plenty of bright red fruit, but has developed a lovely mix of floral and toasty elements. It's an extremely pretty wine that has enough guts to stand up to food that is more robust than one would normally have with Champagne. As usual my wife loved it. She is a huge fan of Pinot Meunier wines.

Very deep cherry color from barrel-aged Meunier, this is 100% Meunier actually and forward and fruity as you'd expect. Maybe because the base is '11, there's a tart cranberry and leaf aspect in behind all that strawberry fruit that makes this really interesting.

Nose: There is a real complexity to the nose with red fruits, red berries, baking spices, leesy tones, yeast, and a touch of citrus. There is excellent depth with a real intrigue to the nose.
Taste: Medium/full bodied with medium/high acidity. There is a robustness to the feel with red fruits, baking spices, red berries, yeasty tones, and bits of citrus. The acidity has a sharpness to it, but it isn't too overpowering.
Overall: This is a robust and powerful Rose. It has a leesy quality to it with excellent complexity on the nose and palate.

March 2013 disgorgement. Outstanding. Wonderfully fruit forward with a touch of earthiness. A really fantastic brut rose. This producer really knows how to celebrate Pinot Meunier!

Disgorged November 2012....all Pinot Noir....TT promised this would be great by late 2013....electric pink/magenta...nose of crushed red fruit, a bit of spice, but really all about crushingly aromatic red fruit...on the palate crisp, crunchy, beautiful fruit - I could drink this daily for its purity and high toned fruit, long engaging finish. This really has come together. Cool stuff.

Deep pink color - nearly a true, translucent red. Lots of red fruit aromas immediately upon opening - they quite literally filled the room as I opened the bottle. Vigorous mousse that created a lovely pink froth (this might be the prettiest Champagne I have ever poured), and then the bubbles sustained a very long time in the glass, hardly declining at all. Dominated by its red fruit elements, the wine was very close to a red with bubbles versus what I normally consider rosé Champagne. There was even a touch of tannin. Overall this was quite delicious, and very capable of standing up to rich food.
Disgorged May 2012.

Really enjoyable and balanced. Just more yummy than the 2012 vintage of this I had the following week. Less complexity but more my style.

not much fruit, balanced but a bit "boring", missing length. 89

3/15/13 disgorgement. Flavors were wonderful. Our only complaint was too much carbonation. We could not stop burping!
