Second attempt. Kept for 3 years. Improved the wine immensely. Wine went from awkward duckling to beautiful swan. Nice rich flavours and nice dark red colour. Let decant for half an hour which allowed a full body but smooth textures.

Medium-dark red color, but transparent to light. Good fruit nose. Taste is fruity but not deep flavor often expected with Aussie Shiraz. Some tannin. Alc 14.1%. I would describe this as an everyday quaffing wine, rather than a special occasion wine.

Robe de couleur rouge cerise foncé ... Nez sur le bois, les fruits et des odeurs empyreumatiques ... Papilles sur les fruits noirs confits et le chocolat ... Longue finale ... Bon rapport qualité prix ...

I disagree with the previous note......this is a solid, sophisticated Shiraz and a great buy as are other Jabob Creek wines! Very dark, beautiful black color, great legs/body, balanced and firm tannins. the nose has notes of spice, cherry and plum....a spicy finish on the palate with notes of black cherry and mulberry. You will have to pay over $25 to get a Shiraz as good. I recommend decanting for several hours to intensify the flavors and let it open up. Will be better in several years...but a great buy at $12.00!

Always a decant value. Subtle wine with spices, minerals, blueberries, floral and oak. Medium finish and requires food. Should age for a few more years.

{screwcap, 14.5%, A$13} Dark colour, vague nose of ripe, generic red fruits. Has quite a thick, low acid palate, with soft furry tannins. Thing is, I can't really find much flavour at all here. It's not sweet, which I guess is good, but it just seems to lack much of any interest on the palate. Perhaps I'm being harsh due to the desperately short finish; wines like this always tend to taste worse as (if!) the bottle level goes down... Anyway, not impressive, even at the price. And rather surprising for all that.

Really good wine for the price. Zippy acidity to suggest further cellaring would be a beneficial. Ripe fruit and a hint of oak. Can't go wrong for a mid week quoffa.

I've never thought much of this producer, but maybe that view is undeserved. Quite approachable. Not amazing, but easy to drink.

Nothing stunning, but a very nicely balanced Shiraz after 8 years in the bottle. Great value if you are prepared to cellar for a few years.

Ok wine. Didn't thrill. Dark fruit, acid out of balance. Much better available. Was a gift so don't know purchase price.

Disappointed in the wine. Medium colour with a medium body. Drinkable but no enjoyment. I will keep my other bottle to mature.

Round and smooth, with vanilla all over the place. Extremely commercial. For those who don't like wine.

Not as good as the first bottle with a bit of heat. Jammy fruit, smoke and minerals. While drinkable just not the style I like.
