Last bottle and very delightful. I actually like the caravan wine over their big brother Darioush. Good wine for the price and was drinking beautifully.

A big wine that's still very much a baby. Has the right balance of tannin and acid to last years more . . . . And most likely turn in to something special. Right now it's quite primary, but still delicious. Wish I could find another.

surprisingly high acid for a napa cab. very pleasant and food friendly as well as drinking on its onw. looking for a bit more mouthfeel and velvety texture, but a well made wine

Despite the temptation, we were able to wait 11 months since we first bought and drank the 2010 Caravan. Great wine--my husband's favorite. First sip after 1.5 hour decant-and been drinking it over approximately 4 hours. Lots of aromatics on the nose--berries, leather, a bit of cream. Not a power-punch jammy fruit forward wine, but much more subtle, refined, and balanced. I'd prefer if it weren't so bright and acidic, but it's still very good and has a lingering and pleasant finish. My husband says it's rich but subtle, the mouthfeel is soft and velvety, and he wishes we could find more 2010. Sadly, we can't, and we've had to start cellaring the 2011 and 2012!

Tasted after an hour and a half in a decanter. Ripe red fruit and oak nose. Blackberry, cassis, charcoal and a surprisingly tart finish. Not smooth but more on the wild side. Very good especially for the price point.

I am getting a little bottle variation in this wine. The last suffered from a mild overdose of oak. Not so tonight. This bottle is back in the spirit of an earlier note. "Rich fruit, mocha and vanilla, smooth, delicious and ready to go." A couple hours of air really helped. Superb value.

Got this for $26 on the last day of a local store's going-out-of-business sale and it turned out to be one of the best wine deals ever. Plush and thoroughly enjoyable, with red currant, blackberry. chocolate, and coffee flavors and a nice beam of vanilla-oak on the midpalate. A little sweet and a little on the big side, but I wouldn't call it over the top. All four of us really liked it.

After a 60 minute decant, this was a terrific expression of a pure Napa cab. Big, ripe fruit, swirling around a creamy oak-laced body with hints of chocolate and a smooth, lingering finish. The early tannins suggest this might be even better in years to come. Regardless, at under $50, this is a terrific value (given its quality) and I am hoping to secure some more of this gem before it's too late.

I tried this at a restaurant a couple of nights ago. Rich fruit, mocha and vanilla, smooth, delicious and ready to go. Blind I might have guessed Caymus and it sells for about half the price. Cabernet is 82%. Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec make up the balance. Outstanding.

Wow is all I can say. Nice, complex & layered cabernet that drinks well above its price. Lush fruit, tasty oak, firm tannins, with hints of mineral and earthy elements. Really enjoyed it

Drank at Rosebud Steakhouse in Chicago, against an '07 Kapscandy State Line Cuvee and an '07 Casanova di Neri brunello, with lots of red meat. The little Caravan helds is own against the other two big boys, nothing short of amazing. It has a floral, perfumy nose that is so inviting, followed by a wallop of napa fruit that clears any closed nasal passages. Fairly big body, but not out of control, not overly acidic or alcoholic, with excellent balance and a fine finish. Forgot to mention a healthy does of oak, but again within reason. The fruit is really big, on the verge of being Caymus-like and candied, but not crossing over the line to syrupy side of things like Caymus can be like. Opened first, and allowed to air over two hours, with side by side comparisons to the other two wines. The Kapscandy was my slight fave, as it had just a bit more nuance and sophistication (and the Cassanova was impressive, but the dirt/barnyard/dryness while nice, interesting, and different, was a touch of a detracting). Taking price into consideration, I would quickly take 4 Caravan over 1 Kapscandy or 2 Cassanova di Neri. Outstanding.
Wow, this one was a shocker. Uncorked to a light purple stain. Served as a pop and pour. Immediately the dark blackberry, blueberry just jumped out and smacked me. Nice. The wine was dense and full bodied from the initial taste - and already rocking. This wine was full bodied, lots of dark fruit up front, leather, smoke, grilled meat - - this wine was luscious. The mid-palate continued with dark black fruit, creme de cassis, and some blueberry and raspberry jam. Wine finished with medium toasty oak tannins. This wine was complex, integrated, and already showing a lot of character this early. And the QPR is fantastic. I almost gave it a 94. I'm going to get a case of this and hold it forever - the aging potential has to be 10-15 years.

Nose is super rich strawberries, blueberries and cream, midpalate is medium weight with black cherry, strawberry, roasted herbs that just stick to the throat on the finish. This completely floors the 08 and 09 Caravan. Outstanding for $35.
