A little light in body, almost too light for the varietal, but well-balanced. Fruit is there but not at the forefront, nice chocolatey notes on the finish, and a silky texture. Finishes short, but pleasant enough. Good value at $12ish from Costco.

I forget how much I enjoy this wine. If you like a big berry wine this is excellent. It is much better than their Cabernet Sauvignon Indian wells. Nose is rich, red berry, slight cherry But the taste is big berry and the finish is very smooth and berry

Decanted about an hour prior to serving. Well-structured. Berry, some oak, balanced tannins and acidity. A decent amount of complexity for this price range. Enjoyable!

Very good QPR. Nothing to not like - very little tannin, but not flabby, and full of velvety dark red fruits: raspberry, dark cherry, a tiny touch of herb, some subtle spice. Easy to drink, and easy to like. A crowd pleaser, too.

Decanted for a hour. Average young Merlot, including the rough edges, with nothing unique to differentiate it from other entry level wines. Overall, it is disappointing especially compared to previous vintages, particularly 2007 (was a great value).

Aromas of black cherry, sage, wood, tomato stems, dust, cocoa powder and green olive. Upon entry, bright fruit flavors of cherry, raspberry preserves, bramble, shiso leaf, tea and chocolate, lingering on pastille flavors. The wine has a somewhat shallow finish but overall a nice every day, easy drinking wine.

Lush. Tried this along with some other merlots highlighted in a recent WSJ review (link below). This was full bodied with expressive balanced red and dark fruit, but nothing memorable. Still prefer the flavor profile of cabernet, but this was a nice mid-week bottle.
Wlll be on the lookout to try a Northstar (winery created in 1994 by Chateau Ste. Michelle to specifically showcase Merlot).

Ruby-purple in the glass. After half an hour, a light pleasing aroma of plum and black cherry, along with a bit of woodiness. Low acidity and tannins, medium body. Black cherry, tea and dark chocolate qualities in the mouth. Overall very smooth, perhaps a bit dull. Medium length with a quick drop-off that bares the oak.

Smooth, well balanced, smoky and berry-rich, though lacks complexity and finish is short.

Solid and entertaining. Good fruit and solid balance. Not much refinement.
