Dark. A nose of dark fruit with a hint of sweetness. The first few sips were fruit intensive, primarily blackberry with a hint of raspberry. What surprised me was the sweetness provided by the notes of vanilla. The wine's structure was peaking, at best. Very smooth tannins, though I will not say they are fully resolved. But, they are certainly mature. The wine evolved as I drank it, especially the structure - it seemed to become more pronounced. The flavor profile did not change significantly, however I did notice just a hint of olive as the evening wore on. Moderate finish.

Dark dark in the glass. A robust nose of casise and blackberry. I was not sure what to expect, but this wine did not disappoint. Nice solid attack of dark fruit, a hint of oak. Overall, the structure of the wine is still very much intact. Firm tannins and a nice acidity to balance it out. It was a pop and pour via Coravin, the wine matured nicely each time I got a glass given that it had only about 20 minutes of air time. Definitely a pleasure to drink. A moderate finish.

Has matured nicely, and comes across more medium than full-bodied. I recall tasting this on release - it was a bit coarse, disheveled. Not so today, it's really quite lovely; the structure is still in tact, though it's in a gentle decline, too, so probably best to drink sooner than later. In a mini-vertical of 02,03,04, it was hard to pick a favorite as each had something pretty unique to say. Nice. recommended

Decanted mostly for sediment, ready to drink right away. Blackberry and black raspberry fruit. Complimentary oak character without being woodsy. In a great place now, but this particular bottle could go a while. I last scored this 8 years ago blind, and this (non-blind) was a better wine.

Remarkable. Aerated and decanted several hours before drinking. Crystal clear flavor. Bright, smooth, subtle tannin. Had a classic Bordeaux like taste. One of the best cabernet's I've tasted since some of my favorite 1997's!

Light purple in color, no bricking. On the nose a hint of vanilla persists. Soft and elegant on the palate, still has the characteristics of Far Niente cab (dark cherry, licoric ). The fruit is fading and this one may have one year left...drink now!

Solid Napa Cab, perhaps a bit "angular" and middle-heavy...lots of life left, still some rounded tannins which were in balance. Didn't really click with the gourmet meal - until the Kobe beef, which was exquisite and amazingly saturated (almost as rich as the foie gras!), with a bit of char from the grill...and the FarN was a great match! Ths was slow oxed before we drank it, perhaps by a few hours. Over dinner, I tought it had unfolded so the slow ox was just fine. Shows the impact of a hot year without being too big. Where this shows is in the fruit, that has a slight stewed quality that undepins the palate and the aromatic gets a little big. The fruit is a nice plum and some red fruits mixed in. I don't find a lot of structure remaining so I think a good drink window would be now through 2016. Overall, this drank well and showed nicely.

This was an interesting cab to drink over 3 hours, decanted an hour prior but it gained a lot of weight and body as the night progressed. Recalled red fruit throughout with the midpalate evolving gaining earthiness and sweetness, finish was solid. Low 90s. My sense is its close to peak but has the complexity to evolve for few more years. Low 90s. -S

A friend bot this wine at another friends restaurant. with great anticipation the owner gently opened the soft cork which broke into three pieces. I have recently warned the owner that this wine should not be stored any longer. The wine was gone. Hints of shoe polish and a musty nose were a great disappointment to both the owner and the prospective purchaser. I thought the restaurant owner was going to cry. He still has a 95 and I'm not sure he wants to open it. I think the bottles are not being properly stored. I really felt bad for the owner. I am going to take a bottle of younger wine, properly stored, to the owner to enjoy.

Tasted blind. Quite tight to begin. Over time a chemical, burning nose mellowed and the fruit began to show up. However, even at the end of the tasting I could not stop smelling horseradish. The palate opened up to some oak and complexity of fruit flavors. Drying tannins. I did not know this was in the line-up. Before revealing, I noted that this should be held longer to tame it some. I think some good potential is there.

Dark ruby/purple to the rim. Notes of butterscotch, vanilla, blueberry, blackberry and blackcurrant. The oak is a bit too prominent for me at this stage of its development, and it seems to overwhelm some of the fruit. This should not be a long term problem for the wine, and probably isn't a problem for most tasters. Although I like the flavors oak imparts on wine, I am sensitive to it and think that many wineries are a bit heavy handed with oak. The finish on this wine is nice and long, and the wine is seamless from front to back.

Popped and poured. Massive fruit nose as soon as you open the bottle. Initial taste is a little tart. After 15 minutes, WOW! Wine is much more approachable and is really, really good. Drank over 2 hours and kept getting better. Finish is very smooth.

One of the best young cabs I've had. Singing right from the bottle, great nose, fruit, finish, all around. Worth the price wish i had a few of these.

Maybe it was the enviroment, maybe it was the food, we brought this to Bob Bennett's new place at 301... and this bottle was outstanding.

At a tasting at the Wine Club SF. Quick notes: medium body with raisin and oak notes and a big dry finish. Good.
