German Riesling from 1971 to 2012 (Los Gatos, California): Medium yellow. I wasn't sure if the aromas were those of cork or petrol, but this turned out to be sound without flaws. Mouthcoating, fuller feel. Complex savory components with a bit of grapefruit coming up late. Duller in the mouth due to lower acidity, but this had some of the most soil of any wine today. Interesting for sure, but the nose kept putting me off and the balance is not perfect.

Really hitting on all cylinders right now: aromas and flavors of salty, mineral slate; tart grapefruit, unripe apricot, sour apple, and the telltale petrol with some smokey notes in the background. Very well done at the Kabinett level which I might expect more simplicity. Lots of acidity support a long dry finish. Good for 1-2 more years.

Drank great tonight x2. Some sponti and loads of apricot on the nose. Good fruit, acidity, and minerality. Fairly big body but everything hung together nicely.

This trocken Riesling has substantial fruit but not a trace of sweetness. Mineral saline character, with a hint of anise. High acid, with a fairly long finish with a bitter aftertaste. Not exactly to my liking.

Beautiful nose of apricot with just a hint of something like sponti. Rich and round body with a sheen. The palate is ripe with white fruit and features plenty of Lieser's slate.

Similar to my prior experience back in February 2014. A fresh, dry, and high acidity Riesling that will leave your tongue dancing and your mouth puckering after every sip.

The wine seemed to have some sponti notes at first but after a bit of air these faded, replaced with some petrol and ripe white fruit smells. This is a relatively weighty wine with a rich, smooth mouth feel. The palate is intensely mineral and intensely acidic, a nice counterpoint to the richness of the body.

Highly enjoyable, very aromatic floral and light petrol, grapefruit, and salty mineral notes. Dry, light, and clean, with bright acidity and a long mouth puckering finish. Enjoyed over three days with vacuum sealing in between; it held its own.

Clean, under-ripe fruit and petrol, along with some floral hints and mineral tones. Dry with good acidity and a medium+ finish. Very enjoyable - even better on day two.

Super tasty tonight. Sweet apricot nose, yellow stone fruit and petrol palate, and a long, mineral finish.

Gerijpte riesling, goud geel van kleur, intense neus, petroleum, mineralig, gele appels, peren. Strakke zuren, mineralige afdronk met een enorm goede lengte!

Wijnkoperij Okhuysen Annual Tasting (Haarlem, NL): Has some unripe bitters from the skins, could do with more slate character, otherwise a clean Riesling with good fruit.

Nicely rich, fresh wine. Based on Kabinett, but with an additional layer of minerals and deepened citrus.
