  • Opened the first bottle of six. Perfect time to drink, . It has aged very well. Its a very good wine but I don't think it will improve any more.

  • need to open; 1h is not enough. firstly beetroot with vanilla, quite robust and big. later becoming well mannered with some sweetness and heaviness. High acid all the time. Some berries but vegy notes present all the time. Well done, interesting Lagrein for those who look for the diffirent wines.

  • A suggestion of sweet perfume before this hits you with hot iron, dried cranberries, and a scintillating finish. Earth and fire; nice density. Infectious like mineral potato chips. Regained its youth several times in the course of the evening.

  • Nice cool mountain Lagrein, lean body showing some herbs and dry rocks along with dark fruits and berries. This is made to pair with game meats or other strong or herbed foods. It worked very well with a pasta dish with an ad hoc ragu that incorporated leftover herbed (inc. ground fennel seed) lamb shoulder and some pork shoulder. This is also pleasing on its own, but the restrained fruit may put off some and it is at its best with food anyway.

  • 2nd Lagrein wine for me, the other being an unimpressive cheaper, tarter, and lighter Elena Walch. This wine never gave up much on the nose over 3 days and much coaxing. Palate of sour cherry, faint licorice, plum, mud. Gained traction over time. This would be lovely with cured or pickled meats, or maybe blended with an expressive Pinot Noir. Can Lagrein be great? This showing gets a 88-89 (?).

  • Ripe dark fruit nose with plums, prunes and black cherries. Some liquorice, floral hints, dusty wood and chocolate.
Full bodied, dense and chewy palatal feel with ripe fruit, firm grip and notable acidity. Some dusty wood bringing a bitter twist to the aftertaste. Liquorice, chocolate, lifting bitter herbs and iron.
Now this stuff is tight! Note from the 3rd day, when the wine started to open up a bit. Keep. And then keep some more. Very intriguing stuff.
