Locale: San Francisco/ East Bay, California, USA
Favorite region: Etna
Dream wine: Lamarche La Grande Rue or a flight of Romanée St. Vivant
It was the summer before fourth grade. I administered a taste test involving blue-bandana blindfolds and sixty flavors of Towne Club, a Detroit pop. Playoff brackets; round-robin style. If memory serves, the champion was Pineapple-Orange, followed closely by Sasperilla. Then I took my parents and seven-year-old brother on the same rollercoaster for local competitor Faygo.
When I arrived in Southern France at 17, I would drink wine only if I could have a Coke too. By the end of the summer I was doing Chateauneuf side-by-sides for anyone who would play along. These days, my friends and family have learned to love it ... and I’ve learned not to talk about it the *whole* time ;).

Wild raspberry and herbs with plenty of fully integrated, perfectly ripe fruit remaining. The texture is spot on at this point. What a treat. Drink now.

2016 Comando G Tumba del Rey Moro

The definition of clarity in a wine. Vibrant but not bold, whatever this is does not hide. Nor is its truth veiled or obscured.
Fresh and still beautifully, easily, slow. Quietly naked and wild, this smiles with playful eyes.

I finally found a way to sufficiently aerate Envinate. See photo!
After 5 hours like this we melted the astringent, rubbery reduction, leaving a boundary of stone under which lived a pulsating core of crystalline red fruit.
