Quelques jours après dégustation. J'évite de lire ma première critique... Robe jaune doré très dense. Nez expressif et distinct. Caramel écossais, sucre d'orge, pomme cuite.

Hawaii 2015 at Ko. blistered lime aromas. elegant clove. great acid profile. lime, pear and just a hint of whipped cream. oak has really worked its way into this wine with little to no attention drawn to it. I wanted Talley and then saw this. makes me so happy.

So far I have largely avoided 2011 Cali chardonnays, as I don't care for the leaner character of the vintage. However, this is my favorite 2011 chardonnay so far - Dutton-Goldfield pulled it off. This is a well balanced chardonnay, showing a bit too much oak/butter on the nose but stone fruit, mineral, green apple, and oak. This paired well with crab stuffed sole, showing enough acidity and body to stand up to the rich food. The most impressive aspect of this wine is the lengthy and complex finish. Well done. Wife - 90, Me - 91.

Yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout.
Nose of cream, talc, yellow pears and yellow apples. Flavors of cream, vanilla, yellow pears and yellow apples. Medium acidity, full bodied. Drink over the next 3 years.

Dutton-Goldfield Tasting (Santa Rosa, CA): This Chard displays what I love about the 2011s from Sonoma: it's crisp, elegant, yet offers a lot of flavor and texture. Aromas of green pears, tangerine and notes of almond butter. Crisp acid but richly textured, with some slight buttery-creamy aspects. Apricot and tangerine run the show, but traces of minerals and buttercream are woven in there as well. Also some balanced notes of caramel and toffee, which linger long onto the finish. So easy to drink, but complex as well. Sexy stuff, and a good buy at $35.

Much more richness in the aromas relative to the 2011 Merryvale Carneros Chard. Full tree fruit aromas. Clove and cream and sweet corn palate. Beautiful floral nuance.

ACID bomb. So out of balance that it incited acid reflux by itself. Pass / do not buy

Blind tasted. Butter, apple, pear, lemon zest, vanilla, limestone, signs of some new oak. Correctly guessed Chard, but I thought from Meursault.
