Decanted 1 hr. ahead. Medium-light cherry color. Very pleasant nose of plums, cherries, clove, and leather. Spicy on the palate, as cinnamon and allspice notes creep in along with juicy pomegranate flavors. Acid balance is lightly tart. Finishes quickly and drily, with zero tannins and clove notes. This wine is eminently slurpable. It's fragrant and tasty. Your dinner guests will love this wine, especially if they understand what an excellent mid-priced, light-bodied wine ought to taste like. I suggest disregarding the winery's paragraph on the label about what "Axis Mundi" means; it casts aside all the Hindu Mythology on which the term is based in favor of pleasant-sounding babble. Focusing instead on what's in the glass, it's definitely worth drinking often.

Light garnet color. Aromas of ripe strawberry. Full bodied, dark fruit forward wine with a bit of leather and acid on the finish. Good, guilt free weekday wine.

I miss the old Sleepy Hollow Syrah from previous versions. Somehow this 2010 version always has a bit too intrusive barnyard funk... and not much else. I've got a whole case of this in the cellar if anyone wants it?
Light ruby red. Aromas and flavors are muted yet nicely balanced. This is a blend of Grenache and Syrah and in this relationship, the Grenache dominates. A pleasant drinking wine for any day of the week.

No formal notes taken, but thoroughly enjoyed this light-bodied Grenache blend. Really tasty stuff, as always, from Wes.
