  • {screwcap, 11.5%} Well, I'm with Stuart. Bought this on a vague recollection of critical acclaim (and not that price-qualified); certainly this has a purity and innocence that you don't often expect at this bottom end of the bottled-wine market. A mix of detergent and lime flavours and aromas, medium acid, some fruit sweetness without really ever giving the impression of RS; it's honest if fairly simple. Quite gluggable; and for the price that'd be the prime requirement. The palate is quite well-balanced, and the finish is creditably medium length. Better than you'd expect. But drink up.

  • I think this is the wine Tim White gave a massive wrap to (on the grounds of being exceptional value). It's good, but certainly no more than mid pack from the very good 2012 wines from SA. The big diff of course is that this wine can be had off the rack for $7 or $8 and this is amazing value at the price. Not mega dry or loaded with citrus but has good mineral buzz, talcum powder and lean tropical fruits.

  • Green apple, floral touches, citrus, mineral edge on finish. Quality of flavour and finish is astonishing for the price. 2012 a great South Australian riesling vintage in general. Light bodied, 11.5 alcohol, and my only qualm is it seems a little dilute.
