Bummer, probably past its prime - a bretty funk overwhelmed the nice dark fruit cigar box notes... Kept trying to go back to it and like it more but couldn't get past a mid-80s-ish point impression.

Dark red, very minimal bricking at the edges. Looks like a much younger wine . Has licorice, cigar tobacco and subtle candy apple on the nose and follows through on the palate. Somewhat tart, and this really needed about three hours to be at its best. Had originally bought six and this was the last straggler. Good Cali Cabs really do okay in the cellar. This would give a comparably priced Bordeaux of the same year a run for its money.

Looked like a beautiful cork but my longest corkscrew lost a tiny bit that made the first pouring nervous. In consequence I decanted immediately from the cellar. I thought a tiny glass of the dregs looked dark and disturbing with frightening VA (maybe affected by reviews I saw here--). In the glass the wine was of mature but not aged color and absolutely fabulous in the mouth with a fine finish. Richer and more nuanced than a '90 Ch Meyney I loved three days ago.

We all thought this would be past it's prime, however we were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't. Light at first, but then the fruit came though and it still had some bite left in it. Every sip was different than the next. I haven't had to many aged Cabernet's, but this was very nice.

Several years too late on this one. Rather sour and devoid of much fruit on open, an hour helped to round out the wine a little, but there's not escaping the fact that this one is done. Little fruit on the nose, and less in the mouth. It is rather smooth with a slightly ragged finish.

after a few hours of airing, the wine was declared dead. We left it open over night and it opened up a bit, making it drinkable, but definetely on its last legs.

Excellent!! Open and poured immediately. Not decanted. Throwing just a bit of chunky sediment, Pure sweet cherry fruit on the nose with wiffs of tobacco and cedar. The nose continued to improve over the two hours, gaining complexity and subtly showing signs of lead pencil, dried herbs, and warm earth. In the mouth, absolutely seamless. Liquid silk with the perfect acid/tannin level to provide structure. Sweet cherries, plums, tea leaves and coffee coat the mouth with a lengthy finish. Don't wait, drink 'em if you've got 'em.

A little tannic and harsh. Nicely aged but not as smooth as I had hoped. Great QPR!

Very little on the nose and the dark fruit was monolithic on the palate. It did display some earthiness after opened about an hour.
